We get a lot of customers reaching out to us and wondering why their electricity bill isn’t accounting for any “solar feed in”, only to find out that their system is not connected to the grid in the first place.

If the meter has not been configured for solar export while the inverter is operating, it usually means the distribution network does not know that your system is active on their network.

Not only is this illegal and can cause complications for the distribution network’s infrastructure, but it also means you are not being paid for any solar generation that’s potentially being sent back to the grid.

It is the solar retailer’s responsibility to ensure all documentation is sent to the electrical retailer & distribution network. However, if for whatever reason you can’t get a hold of your original retailer, ASD is here to help.

Winter.. that time of the year when solar produces the least amount of energy, while at the same time, requiring the most electricity for basic needs like heating and lighting.
