🔧 WE’RE HIRING | QUALIFIED WELDER / BOILERMAKER

Chimera Development is growing quickly and we’re looking for a qualified Welder / Boilermaker to join our team in Altona.

We design and manufacture Australian-made motorsport products, specialising in roll cages and vehicle-specific fabrication. With production and installs continuing to grow, we’re looking for another skilled fabricator to join the team.

What we’re looking for:
• Qualified Welder / Boilermaker
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
• Experience with mild steel and 4130 chromoly
• Roll cage / motorsport fabrication experience highly regarded
• Jig and fixture fabrication experience an advantage
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship

The role:
• Initially a casual position
• Opportunity to move into part-time or full-time employment as the role grows
• Hands-on work across roll cage installs, fabrication and production
• Opportunity for rapid growth and increased responsibility for the right person

We’re a growing business with plenty happening, so this would suit someone who wants to get involved early, take ownership of their work and grow with Chimera as we expand.

When a roll cage says it meets spec, we want to know by how much.

Working with the team at we ran advanced non-linear FEA on their Nissan S15 Clubsport cage, pushing it through multiple critical load cases, all the way to simulated ultimate failure.

The result? Up to 6× the specified load capacity. That's not a rounding error, that's engineering confidence.

Based on FIA-style load cases and supporting VSB14 compliance, this analysis gives Chimera Develoment and their customers data-backed certainty about exactly what's holding them in.

We love working with businesses like this who refuse to cut corners on safety. Their customers deserve to know the cage around them isn't just compliant, it's proven.
