Old Jean Factory Conversion — Loft Residence

Proud to announce our appointment as the Structural and Civil Engineers for this remarkable change of use project — transforming potential into reality.

A once industrious denim factory is being thoughtfully transformed into a refined contemporary loft residence. The conversion celebrates the site’s industrial heritage through the retention of its robust steel structure, exposed brickwork, and original factory proportions, while introducing a new layer of sophistication and comfort.

A striking steel clerestory roof addition will flood the interior with natural light, enhancing the spatial character and redefining the building’s silhouette. The transformation also includes a private pool and a lush roof garden, seamlessly blending leisure and landscape into the adaptive reuse narrative.

Casa Kunyung | Mt Eliza

Casa Kunyung is a stunning Modern Mediterranean home, drawing inspiration from the serene beauty of Lake Como and the Amalfi Coast, as well as the client’s Italian heritage. Perched dramatically on a cliffside, the home boasts sweeping 270-degree views of Port Phillip Bay, stretching from the yacht club to the north, all the way to the city skyline.

The design embraces reverse living principles, with the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen areas strategically placed on the first floor to maximize the breathtaking vistas. Our team at STRUCENG delivered the full structural, civil, and geotechnical scope for this high-end, three-story residence—featuring a raised single basement, zero-threshold suspended concrete polished slabs for alfresco and pool areas, and Dincel rigid wall basement construction. A striking double-height void at the grand entry achieves soaring 6.6m ceilings, enhancing the sense of scale and luxury.

Designed with sophistication in mind, the residence showcases elegant curved architectural forms and a state-of-the-art three-story hydraulic lift, seamlessly blending functionality with refined aesthetics. The construction methods follow a conventional approach while incorporating passive design features, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

We are thrilled to announce that STRUCENG has been appointed to undertake the Civil and Structural Engineering Design for the impressive development.

This development features a stunning 3-storey hotel offering accommodation to 9 spacious serviced rooms, complete with a luxurious communial rooftop terrace overlooking the vineyard.

An impressive cellar door outbuilding will accompany the hotel, which will cater to visitors wishing to stay in New Gisborne boasting regional attraction.

The pleasure is ours to be given the opportunity to work on such a unique project and working closely with to overcome and develop all building documentation for the clients.

A home of this calibre will carry much needed attention in structural design analysis, precision, high-level detail, and innovative thinking. A collaborative approach with all stakeholders involved will put this project on the map.

An absolute standout residence that will accommodate a family and its guests in luxury and comfort. We call it the banana building, a stylish sophisticated design that will have all built-in technology, double height atrium glazing panels, and louvred screen attachment that will capture and generate solar power timed with the rotation of the sun. Jetty will be reconstructed.

INTRODUCING PROJECT FULTON

We're proud to announce one of our most exciting projects of 2024, currently in the concept design phase. This exceptional building will be a masterpiece of sophisticated and elegant architectural design, situated on a generous 50 sq. area across a single level.

The open-plan living area and alfresco views are perfectly integrated with a lap pool overlooking a gorgeous landscape of tennis court and bay views, creating a stunning indoor and outdoor living space that will accommodate owners for years to come. Entertainment will be 5 stars every time we think.

Our Director, George, will lead the project from design to documentation, working closely with both Architect and Developer. STRUCENG has been engaged to undertake the structural and civil engineering design, and geotechnical investigation testing has been completed by our friends at A.C Geotechnical.

Our team excels at finding robust yet efficient design outcomes for our clients. We've found that the most significant cost savings occur during the initial design phase, and we're committed to delivering exceptional results.

With initial consultation meetings underway, building methodology confirmed, and final budget verification pending, we're excited to bring this vision to life.
