Great follow up story about Peter and Robyn's journey from the conception of the idea to building and living in their dream sustainable, off grid home in Kettering, Tasmania.
Wonderful that a wider audience can hear about their story after over 200 people came to see the house three weeks ago for Sustainable House Day. Overwhelmed by the response.

If you are free this Sunday and want to see first hand what is possible with a totally off grid house that is designed and built around passive solar principles, Thylogale is open for sustainable house day at Kettering.
This house produces more power from its solar and micro hydro systems than it can use, so Peter and Robin swapped one of their cars for an electric one and now have off grid motoring too!

For anyone who liked the house and wants to know more. A short article on its sustainable principles, features and its materials, much of which were sourced from the property it was build on. This gives the building some shared DNA with the landscape it rests in.

I want to sincerely thank Peter and Robyn Tuft for taking a big punt on working with me to design their new house. It has been an exciting few years and a wonderful learning process.

Around 4 years ago I started an exciting journey with friends from Sydney that had decided to make Tasmania home. Peter and Robyn had found a slice of hillside overlooking Kettering and wanted to build an off grid, passive solar home that would allow them to enjoy the next stage of their lives in comfort while being as sustainable as possible. I am hugely grateful for their decision to work with me in designing a house for the future in a remarkable location.
