A big thank you to our Silver Sponsor Bell Powder Coating for their continued support over the past few years as well as the 2026 season.

As M26 moves through the manufacturing stage, powder coating has been an important finishing process for a number of components. By applying a dry powder to the surface of certain metal components, and then curing it with heat, the powder melts and forms a protective coating over the component. This provides a durable finish while helping protect parts from wear and environmental exposure.

“It is fantastic to have Bell Powder Coating as a long-term partner of MUR. Their workmanship is superb, as is evident in the quality of the finish on our intricate Purple brake calipers. We look forward to continuing to work with Bell Powder Coating throughout the year and building on our partnership.” - Daniel Sesto, Lead Vehicle Dynamics Engineer.

This coating is particularly important for components such as our brake calipers and chassis, which need to withstand the demands of competition whilst staying durable. The process provides an additional layer of protection while giving these parts a clean and consistent appearance.

We appreciate Bell Powder Coating’s ongoing support of MUR and look forward to working with them throughout the development of M26.

Trading the Workshop for the Supercars Paddock! 🏎️⚡️

Recently, MUR High Voltage engineer Maria Diocera headed to Queensland for the NTI Townsville 500 to volunteer as a scrutineer.

From inspecting Aussie Racing Car entries to watching live pit stops inside a Supercars garage, Maria shares how building a Formula SAE car from the ground up gave her an edge on the national stage. 🛠️🏁

In this edition of 'Season Spotlight', we're looking back on one of our most successful FSAE campaigns in MUR history: 2015!🏎

2015 marked a landmark year for MUR, with the team securing an incredible 2nd place overall, alongside 3rd in Acceleration and a memorable victory in Endurance. Those results helped propel MUR up the global ranking and contributed to a historic milestone. Thanks to the team's achievements across its first 16 years, MUR reached an all-time high of 5th in the world in October 2016.

Although the following year brought its share of challenges with our combustion car, 2015 continued an impressive period of success for MUR throughout the 2010s.

Swipe through to see what one of MUR's most successful seasons looked like 11 years ago 👀🏁

A big part of M26’s electrical development is made possible with the continued support of Altium, helping our team design and develop the electrical systems used throughout the car.

Altium Designer plays an important role in the development of M26’s electrical system, giving us the tools to design and develop the PCBs used throughout the car. The software brings together schematic design, PCB layout, simulation and analysis, allowing our team to create electrical designs within one platform.

Using Altium Designer our team can make detailed PCB layouts and check over designs before they move into manufacturing. This helps us identify issues early on, and ensure our electrical systems are designed to meet the requirements of M26.

“Using Altium gives us professional level quality assurance that we just can’t get from other programs. I especially appreciate the manufacturer part search and its become a critical part of my workflow.” Jacob Lees, Electronics Engineer.

We’re very grateful to have Altium supporting MUR for another season, and we look forward to another year of working together throughout M26’s development.
