Victoria’s medical research industry generates over $600 million for the State each year, but its future funding is under threat.

Despite its economic and social impact, research institutes are facing mounting financial pressure as funding from the Medical Research Fund falls millions short of what was promised. The result is slower progress on treatments and growing strain on the sector.

A solution may be within reach. Federal Member for Kooyong Dr Monique Ryan is pushing for urgent reforms to ensure investing in medical research reflects the sector’s needs.
