Water has a colour before you even fill the pool. Tile selection shapes everything.

Here, CMC305 Dark Grey mosaics were chosen to create water with depth, reflection and a softer, more natural appearance.

Combined with bluestone coping and layered planting, the result feels less like a traditional backyard pool and more like a contemporary interpretation of a natural waterhole.

A pool that cascades between two storeys. Not a feature you see every day.

This Melbourne home wanted an infinity edge that didn't just spill quietly into a hidden trough, it wanted a moment. So Neil Architecture and Laguna designed one.

Water pours over a 3.5-metre wet wall, visible from the storey below through the home's floor-to-ceiling windows. From the upper level, it's a still infinity edge. From the lower level, it's a wall of falling water. Two experiences. One pool.

The 8 x 3-metre pool sits alongside a raised 2 x 2-metre spa, framed by floating timber decking and a vertical wall of rosemary creepers. A sunken pit design removes the need for traditional pool fencing, keeping the views unbroken.

When an architect chooses Laguna to build a pool for his own home, you know the details are right.

For his award-winning "Connected House" in Kew, architect Albert Mo (AMoA) partnered with Laguna to bring his own outdoor vision to life.

A 9.4-metre elevated recreational pool. Dark grey CMC305 mosaic tiles. A swim-up ledge. A hand-cranked drawbridge connecting the upstairs kids' retreat directly to the water. And a sculptural concrete structure that doubles as a retaining wall, solving the site's steep, restricted access with a single design move.

A luxury pool. No visible fencing.
How is that possible?

For this South Yarra project, the owners had one non-negotiable in the brief an uncluttered view. A pool that flowed naturally into the courtyard, without the interruption of traditional pool fencing. The answer was engineering.

A custom infinity edge and a sunken wet-edge pit allowed the pool to blend seamlessly into the landscape while still meeting Victoria's strict safety standards. The result is a 10.9-metre freeform pool that reads as part of the architecture, not as a feature added to it.

A design that took two Gold awards : Best Freeform Pool over $120,000 at the 2024 SPASA National and Victorian Awards of Excellence.
