NTF Architecture

NTF Architecture NTF Architecture is a Melbourne based Architectural practice formed in 2006.

originally founded as Nixon Tulloch Fortey Architecture, Brett Nixon, and George Fortey bring together a diverse range of skills gained in prominent architectural practices where they each had key roles in the design and delivery of award winning projects across a range of types and scales. With a strong design focus and a studio based environment, NTF Architecture takes a collaborative approach t

o the design process through the belief in the value of a broader exploration of ideas and possibilities. We embraces the constraints particular to each project, developing unique responses to the site and contextual conditions inherent in all projects. In addition to the two directors, NTF Architecture has a core staff of Architects and Interior Designers to enhance the knowledge base of the practice. Since inception, we have undertaken projects for a number of public and private clients, ranging from residential and multi residential projects of varying scales, through to commercial, industrial, retail and hospitality projects. We have a strong commitment to providing our clients with innovative Architectural outcomes and efficient delivery.

MANSFIELD | BATHROOM

A richly layered bathroom detail, shaped by natural stone, dark metal finishes and carefully controlled light.

The vanity brings weight and texture to the space, while the surrounding palette creates a quiet sense of intimacy.

Each material carries its own character, continuing the home’s focus on tactility, depth and restrained material richness.

MANSFIELD | MUD ROOM

A considered transition between the outdoors and the main living spaces.

Designed for the practical routines of a country home, the mud room brings function into focus without losing the project’s sense of restraint.

Durable finishes, generous storage and a clean material palette create a space that supports everyday use while feeling connected to the broader language of the home.

MANSFIELD | ENTRY

A carefully framed entry, where the materials and surrounding landscape work together.

Blackbutt timber and tumbled stone define the arrival, creating a warm and textured entry into the home. The natural materials help connect the house to its rural setting, while keeping the overall feel calm and refined.

The entry feels quiet and considered, setting the tone as you move into the home.

MANSFIELD | EXTERIOR

A quiet composition of gabled forms, charred timber and steel, set gently within the landscape.
Expansive glazing opens the home to long rural views, where stone, grass and sky become part of the architecture. A sequence of outdoor spaces moves between shelter and exposure, designed for both gathering and retreat.

MANSFIELD | BEHIND THE SCENES

A modern farmhouse set into the Mansfield landscape, gabled forms finished with a steel roof, rugged stonework and charred timber wall panels for a strong, grounded silhouette.

LISSON GROVE | On Site

Lisson Grove is now underway, a multi-level heritage extension in Hawthorn.

These early stages show the back addition taking form, with framing and external cladding recently complete. The curves are starting to read, but this is the raw side of construction - before finishes and detailing bring it all to life.
