Knocked out a few solid little jobs this week 👍

First up, built a temporary shifter mount for a customer’s M57-converted Troopy.

We moved it back and raised it up to make it way more usable in manual mode until his custom centre console is ready.

Also had a customer who wanted his bonnet-entry snorkel cut capped off on his tidy barra converted GQ so we welded it up. Came out super clean 👌

Always good knocking out these custom fixes!

🔧 Fixed another dodgy turbo drain on this TD42 GU!

This sump came in with a leaky bodge job on the turbo drain that was causing all sorts of grief. We pulled the old pan, replaced it with a fresh sump, then properly welded in a clean AN fitting so we can run some quality new lines.

No more half-arsed fixes
done to done right 😌💪

The Ultimate M57-Powered GU Patrol

This GU Patrol came to us to have its BMW M57 conversion completed, and we took the opportunity to turn it into a high-performance touring weapon. From a full engine refresh to bespoke interior fabrication, no stone was left unturned.

🔧 Performance & Reliability
We went through the engine to ensure it was bulletproof before pushing the power:
Internal Upgrades: Full engine reseal, new timing chain, and upgraded valve springs.
The Powerhouse: Turbo Systems M57D30TOP upgrade turbocharger set paired with a PDI Front Mount Intercooler kit.
Air & Filtration: A custom 4" Stainless Snorkel for maximum induction and a BossVent Catch Can to keep the intake system pristine.
Fueling & Tuning: Brand new injectors and a Custom Dyno Tune to dial in that twin-turbo torque.

50% MORE POWER ON ONLY 3PSI?! 📈💥

We took the Resurrection 4x4 budget Jimny over to see Jarrod at , and the results for the little 1.3L were... surprising, to say the least!

Even though we’re running a "really budget" turbo build, the gains are already insane. We went from a baseline of near 40kW to a solid 60kW. That is a massive 50% increase in power and we’ve barely even started! 🚀

The Catch?

The Chinese wastegate (supposedly a 7psi spring) was only giving us 2psi. We added a boost tee to hit 3psi, but that’s where we found the limit of the stock fuel pump. She started running lean, so we had to call it for the day.

What’s next for Round 3:
⛽ New fuel pump to fix those lean ratios.

🏎️ Heading back to JT Mechanical to actually hit that 7psi goal.

🪚 Guard chops are happening soon to fit the flares and a set of 31” muddies! Video will be out soon

If it’s doing 50% more power on 3psi, imagine what it’ll do on 7... Stay tuned!
