At Kingspan, today was about more than sharing a few laughs and enjoying time together as a team. It was a reminder that behind every role, project and deadline is a person, and that genuine human connection matters.

These moments together help create opportunities for meaningful conversations, checking in with one another, and fostering a workplace where people feel supported, valued and heard.

A simple question can make a real difference. Whether it's over a coffee, during a team catch-up, or in passing, taking the time to ask "Are you OK?" and truly listen can help strengthen the connections that matter most.

We had a great time at Bowens Expo 26, connecting with builders, trades and industry professionals from across Victoria.

The atmosphere was buzzing all night, and it was fantastic to showcase our residential building solutions while having meaningful conversations about the challenges facing builders today.

A clear theme emerged from the discussions. Builders are looking for practical support to navigate 7-Star compliance, choose the right products, and make confident decisions on site. Many also highlighted the need for simple, accessible training and guidance that fits into their busy schedules.

Thank you to everyone who visited the Kingspan stand, shared their insights and entered our competition. The conversations and feedback were invaluable, and they reinforce the importance of providing practical solutions that help simplify compliance and improve building performance.

Strong partnerships are built through shared experiences, not just shared projects.

Last week, our Specification team joined Sydney's architecture community for a memorable evening at the Sydney Seafood School, hosted by our colleagues at Kingspan Panels.

The evening began with canapés and conversation before everyone rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on cooking experience, guided by a professional chef. Working in small groups, we prepared our own meals before sitting down together to enjoy dinner overlooking Sydney Fish Market.

There were no presentations. No sales agenda. Just genuine conversations, shared experiences and the opportunity to strengthen relationships with the people shaping Australia's built environment.

A big thank you to the Kingspan Panels team for creating such a unique opportunity to connect with industry peers in such an inspiring setting.

What a fantastic reminder that some of the best conversations happen outside the boardroom.

Insulation continuity is only as strong as its weakest junction.

A great start to the new City Event Series in Melbourne with Design Matters National.

Our Sales and Technical Manager, Paul Young, presented at the inaugural Melbourne event, sharing practical insights on insulation performance, building envelope detailing, and the risks that can arise when continuity is overlooked.

One key question stood out:

Where can we least afford to get insulation continuity wrong?
The simple answer is all junctions matter.

However, in practice, severe condensation and mould issues are often found at wall-to-ceiling junctions. This is especially common in homes without eaves overhang, where ceiling insulation may not extend over the top of the wall. The result can be a significant thermal bridge between the exterior and interior.

Moreover, in cooler climate zones, roof ventilation requirements can make this detail even more challenging. A gap must be maintained above the insulation for airflow, but the thermal bridge still needs to be properly addressed to help reduce the risk of ongoing condensation and moisture problems.

Warm roofs are still a relatively new conversation in Australia.

That is exactly why CPD sessions like this matter. We recently joined Robert Svars and the team at Vistek Engineers for a presentation on externally insulated roofs, often referred to as warm roofs, and how they can support better building performance when designed and detailed correctly.

Delivered in collaboration with Soprema, the session brought together Seamus FARRELL from Soprema and Kingspan Insulation Australia’s Business Development Manager, Jeremy Robb, to walk through the practical considerations behind warm roof design.

From thermal performance and condensation management to specification pathways and project applications, it was a valuable discussion on a roof build-up that is gaining more attention across the Australian market.
