When it comes to solar, the cheapest quote isn't always the best value.
Recently, we were called to inspect a system we'd installed several years ago after the homeowner experienced repeated power issues following a battery installation completed by one of these companies. After investigating, our electrician found the issue wasn't with the original solar system at all - it was the newly (and illegally) installed battery system. AND guess where the company is now...🏃♂️💨...GONE
Unfortunately, situations like this are becoming more common. 😤
Recent investigations have highlighted concerns about some solar retailers disappearing, rebranding, or leaving customers with systems that are illegally installed, poorly designed, incompatible or difficult to service. Some are just dropping off the product and not installing it... When that happens, it's often local businesses who are asked to help pick up the pieces.
Before you sign a contract, ask yourself:
✔️ Is the installer accredited?
✔️ Will all components work together - today and in the future?
✔️ Will the company still be around if you need warranty support in five years?
✔️ Are you choosing quality and experience - not just the lowest price?
A solar system is a long-term investment. It deserves careful planning, quality products and experienced installers who stand behind their work.
