Get your ideas down! 💡 Think big picture 🖼️

Taking the time to plan ahead means a clear direction, smoother decisions and a space that truly reflects your style.

Two things we do ••
▪️Laminate an A3 set of your plans so we can mark them up. Think…electrical, plumbing, joinery and anything else you want to scale into spaces to see how they will fit and function.
▪️ Collect ideas in a common place like a mood board. By giving a physical spot to your ideas you can imagine what finishes can work together to complement the space.

Ever wondered who’s alongside you during your project? 🤔💭

To break it down, we highlight three key stakeholders who are pivotal in transforming your idea into a reality. There’s many more who come into it along the way, but these three bring your vision to life and help get you ticking all the boxes ☑️

▪️THE BUILDER ⚒️
Now, we may be biased but engaging a builder is arguably the most important decision you’ll make. They’ll be on the journey with you from start to finish and can be the make or break factor in how your project is executed. Choosing someone who is transparent to share the reality of building costs, design feasibility and timelines is crucial. You’ve got to trust them to help give you insight into all aspects of the project.

▪️ARCHITECT, DESIGNER OR DRAFTSPERSON 💡
Put simply - someone you choose to help nut out ideas and explore design possibilities. Each offer different services and cater to projects differently depending on the scale and type of work required, but they get the ideas drawn up. The help to conceptualise spaces and often will provide you with the specifications and paperwork you’ll need for the build.

▪️LOCAL COUNCIL AND CERTIFIERS 📋
If your project is big, you’ll need the tick of approval from your local council. You need to be aware of their criteria and the process to seek approval. Once your plans are approved, a certifier is someone who checks in to monitor the project and ensures you are on track to meet the criteria.

These Western Red Cedar doors were heading for the rubbish. Instead we’ve saved them, restored them and they will now be used in a home.

Look out for the process in bringing them back to their former glory.
