Project Completion / Heywood House

South.Rd was pleased to partner with McAuley on the expansion of their critical crisis accommodation offering with 14 new units.

This significant refurbishment transformed a former aged care facility into a new short-stay transition model - the first of its kind in Australia. Made up of seven single suites and seven family suites, communal areas, a children’s room and garden courtyard. The new Heywood House offers 35 women and children accommodation for up to two months as they rebuild their lives.

Family violence is the fastest growing cause of homelessness in Victoria with a severe lack of services available for those in need. Congratulations to everyone involved in launching this facility. We’re long and proud supporters of the incredible work of McAuley and it’s fantastic to see their Heywood House safe haven come to life! ✨

The Brighton Recreation Centre redevelopment is off to a colourful start! 🌈🌈

Our team has powered through the demolition works and are now boxing out for the new extension and carpark, including the removal of contaminated soil.

Thanks to Josh, Ryan + Khaled for jumping on a different set of tools this morning and frying up a feast for our team BBQ! 🍳

Hosted at our Brighton site, this team breaky marks the first of many and was a great icebreaker (quite literally at 7 degrees 🥶) for some of our new faces.

We’re growing into quite a diverse bunch here at .rd with Hindu, Muslim and Orthodox Jewish religions all celebrated amongst our group. We’re glad to be able to cater for everyone and look forward to the next cook-up.

SJ Higgins Group is pleased to have completed another successful project with Cladding Safety Victoria.

It's always a great feeling to handover a building that has been made safer and know we're providing peace of mind to all the residents who call it home.

Recently, kindly allowed us to utilise their head office to access one of our construction sites. As a thank you, our team members Ryan McPherson, Josh Toy and Nic Dalkin were pleased to present CFCC Chief Executive, Karin Knoester, with a donation on behalf of .rd.

We place great importance on giving back to our community and are pleased to support the fantastic ongoing work of CFCC. We hope that these funds play a small part in improving the lives of people living with Cystic Fibrosis and help support the various support services and research delivered by the foundation

Season’s Greetings from .rd

Just like that 2021 is coming to a close but what a remarkable year it was! ✨

We’ve very proud to have commenced/completed 24 projects in just 18 months of operation and can’t thank you enough for your support throughout the year.

Our team will be taking a well deserved break from Wednesday 22nd December - Tuesday 11th January. We wish you a wonderful festive season and look forward to working with you in 2022.

Construction is underway on SJ Higgins Group’s 6th project with Cladding Safety Victoria.

This building is a 12-storey complex in South Yarra where elevated work platforms are being used to access lower levels and abseiling is being utilised to access the vertical and horizontal fins along Level 12.

A few snaps of our latest project on site in Malvern East. SJ Higgins Group are delighted to be working with Cladding Safety Victoria and Sedgwick to deliver these complex ACP and EPS cladding rectification works.

Our construction team incorporated a hoist into the tiered scaffold design to assist with loading materials and to improve access to the façade of the seven-storey apartment building.
