The edp team recently completed a major upgrade for a seed potato grower who was looking to improve the performance of their existing seed cutting line.

The customer’s old line was running slowly and was also resulting in product being lost on the ground.

edp designed, manufactured, and installed a new line for the customer, incorporating some of the customer’s existing & new equipment into the new installation.

The results have been excellent — line speed has basically doubled, significantly increasing throughput and giving the customer a much more efficient packing operation.

Our electrical team also played a big part in the project, installing new wiring for each component running cables back to a main control box.
They also installed an air conditioner for the control box to keep the drives cool when running in warm conditions.

The operators now have a modern touchscreen interface located at the inspection table, making the line much easier to control.

A great result for the edp team and, most importantly, a very happy customer! 👏

- Trade Qualified
- Certificate III in Engineering Trade
- Certified MIG Welder
- Some experience with TIG welding would be an advantage
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to use overhead cranes
- Cut marked-out items as per dimensions using bandsaws
- Prepare jobs using power hand tools
- Weld components and framework using a variety of welding processes
- Be part of a team

There's been plenty happening in the Packaging Machinery division at edp over the past few weeks!

Our team has just completed the build and testing of a citrus pre-pack line for one of our valued customers.

From the start of the build to completion, the edp manufactured equipment was designed, built and tested in just 5 weeks.

One of the key reasons we were able to achieve such a fast turnaround was having a Giro 12 Bucket Static Weigher in stock. The customer already had the bagger so it was a win for both of us.

By carrying selected Giro machinery, we're able to significantly reduce lead times on complete pre-pack lines when stock is available.

For our customers, this means less downtime, faster installation, and getting back to bagging fruit sooner.

A big thank you to the Damien Atkins and his team for another great result and for their commitment to delivering quality equipment on time.

Custom Bin Tipper Solution for an Olive Oil Processing Facility 🏭

At edp Australia, we know that no two processing facilities are the same. That’s why we work closely with our customers to design handling solutions that fit their specific operational requirements.
Our latest custom bin tipper was developed for an olive oil processing plant that needed a different approach to our standard design.

The goal was to create a system that would:
✅ Allow bins to be loaded at ground level
✅ Enable loading with either a forklift or pallet jack when required
✅ Match a specific hopper height within the processing line
✅ Ensure safe and efficient product transfer into the receiving hopper

To meet these requirements, our engineering team designed a two-stage tipping system. Bins are loaded at ground level using either a forklift or pallet truck, then lifted to the required tipping height. Once in position, the bin is carefully tipped to discharge the product smoothly into the hopper.

The result is a safe, efficient, and reliable solution that integrates seamlessly into the customer’s operation while providing the flexibility to use multiple loading methods.
Projects like this highlight the value of working closely with customers to develop practical engineering solutions that improve workflow, safety, and productivity.

edp e100 Volume Filler – Efficient, Gentle & Versatile Produce Filling

The edp e100 Volume Filler has become a valuable addition to our portfolio over the last few years, with successful installations already operating in both citrus pack sheds and carrot packing facilities.

Designed for filling both RPC trays and cardboard boxes, the e100 can operate at speeds of up to 15 trays or boxes per minute, helping increase throughput while maintaining gentle product handling.
