Connecting the character bungalow with its newer addition was central to this transformation.

The minimalist kitchen, children’s study and butler’s pantry were manufactured and installed by our team, creating elegant, highly functional spaces for a growing family. The restrained joinery allows the original home and newer addition to sit comfortably together.

Next in our project discussion series, a closer look at the living area and the joinery details that keep this entertainment space clean and easy to use.

The handle-free drawers use a shark nose detail, so they are easy to open while the cabinetry stays seamless.

The audio visual equipment is tucked behind a drop-down panel with a soft-close mini winch system, keeping everything neat while still easy to access.

A throwback to Brompton Bungalow.

The client had carefully restored the original bungalow before work began on the new addition. Our joinery needed to sit naturally alongside those existing details, so we brought in walnut timber and green finishes that echo the home’s mid-century feel.

Meet Paul from our Technical Detailing team. And yes, the job involves a lot of details.

Paul helps take a design from looking good on screen to being ready for the workshop. He works through the measurements, materials and all the practical bits our cabinet makers need before they start building.

Most clients never see this part, but it’s what gives our workshop a clear plan to build from.

A modest addition, but plenty for the joinery to solve.

For this Hyde Park project, every piece had to earn its place. The butler’s pantry kitchen pod, entertainment unit and mudroom laundry were designed to keep the open-plan living space functional without making it feel crowded.

The result came from close collaboration across design, manufacture, construction and installation.

What gives this kitchen its depth? The Jutty Out panels.

They define the sections between the cabinetry above and below, breaking up the flat planes and giving the whole kitchen a sharper finish. The natural timber handles by soften those clean lines without taking away from the detail.
