We love a good before and after!

The first photo was taken not long after the Rammed Earth walls went up at this house we built with Eco Sustainable Homes in Maldon. The second shows the finished home — settled in and full of warmth.

Rammed Earth looks great in bathrooms — and it holds up beautifully, too. Here’s a look at the bathroom in our display at Ten NorthMaine. Rammed Earth’s natural thermal mass helps regulate temperature and humidity, and when properly sealed, it’s more than capable of handling the moisture you’d expect in a bathroom environment.

After completing the Rammed Earth, the framing goes up, and the scale and flow of the home start to take shape. This is an exciting point, where you begin to get a feel for how the materials, structure, and design will all work together.

Absolutely! Shelves can be securely fixed to Rammed Earth walls using masonry fasteners.

As for pictures, you can hang them anywhere with an masonry nail—no need to search for a wall stud!
