Hutchins Bros is a family-owned business located in Narrandera NSW. Specialising in structural steel fabrication, we have been operating in the steel industry for over 40 years.

PROJECT COMPLETION

Having officially opened in March 2026, Hutchins Bros are proud to have completed the structural steel package on the ECQ Outlet in Eastern Creek. As Western Sydney’s first retail outlet, it is home to 100 brands offering discounts on a minimum of 70% of their stock.

Engaged by Buildcorp to complete the works, HBE delivered more than 600 tonnes of structural steel over 12 months to construct the 30,000sqm establishment. This included the shop detailing, processing, fabrication, protective coating application, delivery and installation of the steel, with our contract value nearing $7M upon completion.

In 2023, Hutchins Bros were proud to complete the structural steel package for TVN On-Country on the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence project in Shepparton VIC.

PROJECT COMPLETION

In 2025 Hutchins Bros delivered the structural steel for the first stage of the Stromlo Forest Anglican College - the ELC & Kindergarten Building. Drone shots of the build below ⬇️

HBE have also been successfully awarded the structural steel package (currently fabricating) for the College’s second stage - the Junior School Building.

APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR

Wrapping up the year by announcing the winner of our Bryan Dobson Apprentice of the Year award - Troy Greenwood! 👏

This year, Troy also completed his 4-year dual apprenticeship, achieving his Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, after previously completing his Certificate III in Surface Preparation & Coating Application back in 2022.

Congratulations Troy – we’re very proud of you!

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE

Hutchins Bros will close tomorrow afternoon the 19th of December for a Christmas break and reopen Monday the 5th of January.

HBE wish to thank all of our staff, subcontractors, clients and suppliers for a successful 2025. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and restful break.

STAFF ACHIEVEMENT

Huge congratulations to Jett who has completed his traineeship Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application in record time. Well done! 👏

Next year Jett will move into the main workshop and start the 2nd Phase of his dual trade apprenticeship with us, tackling a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Throughout October and November, HBE hosted a number of work experience students from Narrandera High School. Thank you to Cooper, Jayden, Blake and Sidney for each coming out to the workshop for a week and giving us a hand on the tools!

Cooper: “It was great. I loved it. The whole experience was fantastic and they made me feel like part of the team.”

Jayden: “It was fun and they were very helpful in giving me tips to make my welding better. I loved it.”

Blake: “I really liked it. It was a good week. Everyone was really kind and helpful. I did lot’s of welding, grinding and putting jobs together. I loved it!”
