🚚 The move is underway!

This week, we kicked off our staggered move to our new purpose-built facility in Hope Valley, with the first machine, the guillotine, making its way across.

There’s still plenty to move, with more equipment and machinery being relocated and set up over the coming weeks.

It’s certainly starting to take shape, and we’re looking forward to seeing the new workshop come together.

It’s been a long time coming, and we’re pretty pleased to see our new Mazak INTEGREX i-400 hitting the road… 🚛

Our new machine is officially on its way to our new Hope Valley facility, where it will become a major addition to our machining capability.

With advanced milling and turning capabilities on one platform, the INTEGREX i-400 will help us streamline manufacturing, improve efficiency, and reduce lead times particularly for larger and more complex components.

More capability. Greater efficiency. Less time moving between processes.

And we’re only just getting started. Hope Valley, here we come.

Thanks Hamish & Andy for the podcast shout-out last week! 😂

They say any publicity is good publicity, so we’re choosing to focus on that part… while slowly recovering from the emotional damage caused by your absolutely unnecessary attack on our cap. 💔

We’ve spent years solving complex engineering problems, machining things to ridiculous tolerances and keeping some pretty serious industries moving.

And yet apparently our greatest engineering failure is a cap.

Fair call, fellas. We’ll take it on the chin.

Lucky we’re a tough bunch at Mig-Co Engineering. We’re built to find solutions to complex challenges , usually involving precision engineering, not headwear, but we’re always prepared to deliver.

So, Hamish & Andy, if you think the cap was bad…

Give us a harder challenge.

P.S. The cap came with embroidered edging. We thought it would have people stepping out in style. Maybe we need to rethink our sense of style.

Another complex machining and refurbishment project completed at Mig-Co Engineering.

Here we manufactured a new change-over block from a broken sample, with no drawings provided

From reverse engineering a broken component through to precision machining, refurbishment and repair, our team brings the practical engineering expertise needed to get complex components back into service.

No drawings? No problem. We can work from the component in front of us.

PROJECT UPDATE | ONSITE MILLING & COMPONENT REFURBISHMENT

What started as a straightforward onsite milling job quickly evolved as we uncovered an opportunity to deliver a more complete refurbishment.

The original scope was for onsite milling. This involved pad welding blade seat area and machining back to OEM spec.

As the project progressed, the scope expanded to include:
▪️ Bolt extraction
▪️ Additional pad welding
▪️ Supply of specialist tooling
▪️ Onsite machining and refurbishment
This is where adaptability, experience and problem-solving matter.

Sometimes the scope changes. In this case, we recognised an opportunity to refurbish the component to a higher standard than originally anticipated, rather than simply completing the initial scope and walking away.

For us, it’s about looking at the bigger picture, understanding what the client needs and finding the best practical outcome, even when the job evolves along the way.
The scope might change. The commitment to a quality outcome doesn’t.
