🌿 Welcome to Wild Yeast Zoo 🌿

A citizen science project with a twist!

In collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology (CoESB), the Bacterial Regulation and Transport Laboratory (BRaTlab) and Rogue Scholar brewing, our aim is to send kits to people in the Hunter region and ask for participants to gather wild yeast from native flora.

These participants will then gather samples and mail them to us, along with the story of the flora, its location and significance.

We hope over time to build a ‘zoo’ of these yeasts - a database that can be purchased from and used for brewing beer. 🍺
