Most people only know these 4 Koala Facts. 🐨 How many do you know?
1. Koalas sleep for up to 20 hours a day, making them one of the sleepiest animals on Earth.
2. Baby koalas, called joeys, are only about the size of a jellybean when they’re born.
3. Koalas aren’t bears—they’re marsupials, meaning they carry and raise their young in a pouch.
4. Koalas have fingerprints that are so similar to humans’ that they can be difficult to tell apart.
5. Koalas eat almost exclusively eucalyptus leaves, and they’re surprisingly picky about which trees they choose.
6. Despite spending most of their lives in trees, koalas have a top speed of about 30km/h.
7. You can tell if a koala is male or female just by looking at its nose. Male koalas usually have a much larger, broader nose than females.
8. Koalas have a specially adapted digestive system that helps them process eucalyptus leaves, which are toxic to many other animals.
