Through the New Education and Training Model (NETM), TAFE NSW is offering a new, 2023 round of micro-credentials in Technical Drawings. Both courses are part-time, online and last eight weeks.

Course 1 - Introduction to Technical Drawings - will provide fundamental comprehension and application of AS 1100 Part 101: General principles. Participants will develop and apply their knowledge and skills in technical drawing, including projection, views, drawing symbols, surface texture, measurement, tolerancing and fits, and datum points. Formative and summative assessment approaches will be included to demonstrate proficient comprehension and application of AS 1100 terminology.

Start dates are: May 1, 2023; July 24, 2023; October 9, 2023. The study commitment is two to three hours per week.

Ron Weinberger and Jeff Heron (both from NAVAIR SYSCOM Security Cooperation Office – International Programs) are visiting Newcastle on March 8, 2023.

Hunter Defence, in partnership with Goal Group, have invited them to brief Regional Defence Industry on a US initiative to expand/enhance the USN FMS (Foreign Military Sales) supply chain by utilising the strength of partner countries' industrial base for the RoR pipeline. (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul - MRO).

The briefing will be held at the Anzac Room at Souths Leagues Club on March 8, 2023 at 9am, and it should be of interest to those companies in the Hunter that are producing aerospace products.

While they are representing USN during their visit, we believe that this initiative will expand to USAF and USMC as they seek to release pressure off a repairable pipeline that is struggling with both quantity of repairs and with obsolescence issues.

Lockheed Martin is hosting an Industry Opportunity Briefing during the AVALON Australian International Airshow where you can learn about local program opportunities, as well as those within their global supply chain.

They welcome companies and universities that are attending the Airshow to learn more about prospects with all of their business areas: Aeronautics, Missiles and Fire Control, Rotary and Missions Systems and Space – as well as their national R&D operations centre, STELaRlab.
