This week, Maali Mechanical was recognised by the Shire of East Pilbara in the NAIDOC Aboriginal Owned Business category — an honour we don't take lightly. 🌟

But recognition like this doesn't belong to a name on a certificate. It belongs to our people.

Every job we complete, every client we deliver for, every milestone we reach — it's built on the hands, heart and grit of the crew who show up and give their best, day in and day out. Our supervisors, tradespeople, apprentices, scaffolders, riggers, operators, trade assistants and the team behind the scenes. You are Maali.

We've always believed that without our people, we are nothing. This award is proof of what happens when you back good people, give them a genuine opportunity, and trust them to rise to it. Watching individuals step into the workforce, build their confidence and skills, and create better futures for themselves and their families — that's the work we're most proud of.

A heartfelt congratulations to all the other businesses, people, Elders and programs acknowledged alongside us — it's humbling to stand among so many mob doing incredible things across the Pilbara.

To every single person who has helped get us to where we are today: thank you. This one is yours.

NAIDOC Recognition Category: Aboriginal Owned Business

Team Bonding 💚💛

Today was a special one for our team—stepping away from the ground and coming together for something bigger than the game. As part of our team bonding exercise, we dedicated our time and effort to cleaning and preparing the space generously provided by one of our valued supporters, Loloma Tours & Transfers

As we celebrate Ratu Sukuna Day, we reflect on the values he stood for—leadership, service, and loyalty to our people. Today, we carried those values as a team, strengthening not just our environment, but our bond as one family.

Moments like this remind us that our strength doesn’t only come from how we play, but from how we serve, support, and stand together off the ground.

Vinaka vakalevu to Loloma Tours & Transfers for your continued support. We are proud, grateful, and ready to keep building—together. ❤️💛💚

Today our whanau and work colleagues gathered at Eastern Ridge to mark 26 years since the fatality of Uncle David TeMoananui.

Every year we come together to remember him and every year BHP honours his memory with us.

For our Maali Mechanical team, this day is the reason behind every toolbox talk, every prestart, everytime we pull each other up on a shortcut.

A fatality on site is never just a statistic. It’s a father who didn’t come home, a husband, an uncle, a workmate. A family that carries it for the rest of their lives.

Because everyone deserves to return home to their families.

Not a slogan. A standard.

On behalf of Aunty Babe, Catrina & whanau - thank you to everyone who reached out, attended, or carried him in their thoughts today. Knowing he Is remembered by so many means everything to our whanau.

In memory of Uncle David ❤️

🚛🔥 Proud to Have the New Boily Truck Operating in the Pilbara!
There’s nothing quite like seeing new gear roll onto site — and the arrival of the new Boily truck in the Pilbara is a real game‑changer for the team.
This truck isn’t just another piece of equipment. It’s a massive boost to safety, efficiency, and capability across our operations. In a region as tough and unforgiving as the Pilbara, having the right support vehicles on deck makes all the difference — and the Boily delivers.
💡 Why it’s such a big win:

More reliable support for breakdowns and onsite fixes
Faster response times, keeping machinery turning and crews moving
Better tooling and fit‑out, meaning more jobs can be handled on the spot
Increased uptime for production-critical equipment
Built to handle Pilbara heat, dust, and distance with ease

The crew is already noticing the difference — smoother jobs, fewer delays, and the confidence that comes with knowing the right equipment is backing you up.
Huge thanks to everyone involved in getting it spec’d, delivered, and operational. This is exactly the sort of investment that keeps us running strong out here.

The favorite part of my job? Creating opportunities for our young Indigenous people.
There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing young Indigenous talent thrive whether it’s helping someone take the first step in their career, guiding them toward leadership, or simply making space where their voices are heard and valued.
Every opportunity we help create—big or small—is a step toward stronger communities, deeper cultural pride, and a future where Indigenous youth can walk confidently in both worlds.
It’s more than just work. It’s purpose.

Big shoutout to Tyvon, who's currently stepping into an exciting journey as a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice! 🔧🚜
Watching young Indigenous talent like Tyvon take on trades with confidence and determination is exactly why this work matters. He’s not just learning the ropes he’s building a future for himself, his community, and setting an example for others coming up behind him.
Skilled trades are powerful tools for empowerment, and Tyvon is proving that with every bolt turned and every skill mastered.
Proud of the path he's on and even more excited to see where it takes him.
