Further diagnosis was completed after an upright freezer at a Carindale food retail site remained above its required operating temperature.

The challenge:
The cabinet was sitting at approximately -3°C. The compressor was extremely hot, while suction pressure was around 50 psi—higher than the expected reading of approximately 30 psi.

Our solution:
ACRO checked the operating pressures, removed a small amount of refrigerant, cooled the compressor and continued testing its performance.

The result:
Testing indicated that the compressor was not pumping effectively. Compressor replacement was recommended rather than incorrectly treating the refrigerant charge as the only issue.

A commercial freezer refrigeration circuit was tested and evacuated at a quick-service food retail site in Carindale, Brisbane.

The challenge:
Air, moisture or an undetected leak can undermine refrigeration performance, even after replacement components have been installed.

Our solution:
ACRO pressure tested the system to 370.6 psi and leak tested the brazed joints, with no leaks found. The circuit was then evacuated to 210 microns and charged with 650 g of R404A.

The result:
The pressure testing, deep evacuation and specified refrigerant charge were completed and documented. The freezer remained slow to reach temperature, prompting further diagnosis.

ACRO attended a quick-service food retail site in Carindale, Brisbane, after an upright freezer failed to reach its required operating temperature.

The challenge:
Moisture and contamination within a refrigeration circuit can restrict refrigerant flow, affect performance and place additional strain on the equipment.

Our solution:
ACRO recovered the refrigerant, removed the existing liquid-line drier and cleared the system with nitrogen. The capillary line was confirmed clear before a new filter-drier was installed.

The result:
The moisture-removal and drier-replacement stage was completed. The freezer remained slow to pull down, so further testing was required.
