Episode 15 done and dusted!

This one was a little different.

Instead of having a guest on, Daniel and I decided to dig through the archives, pull out some old photos and have a bit of fun looking back at our journey through construction and building our businesses.

Some hilarious stories. Some serious ones. Plenty of old war stories, projects, lessons learnt and a few things weā€™d probably do differently. šŸ˜‚

We also got into how far weā€™ve come, how much the industryā€™s changed and where we want to take things next.

The reality is, weā€™re both absolutely obsessed with construction. We could talk about this stuff for hours, and I reckon a few of you construction nerds out there will love this one.

We had an absolute ball filming it.

With an absolute POWERHOUSE guest joining us next Saturday, we thought weā€™d squeeze this one in between.

This morning on Behind the Facade , we had the pleasure of sitting down with Irene Tartiris ā€” and what an incredible story she has.

Irene works with one of the biggest builders in the country and is a proud ambassador for women in construction. Sheā€™s also a great friend, and we had an absolute blast having her on.

Not long ago, Irene moved to Australia without speaking a word of English. Look at everything sheā€™s achieved since then. Her story is a powerful example of what hard work, resilience and determination can make possible.

Irene, you should be incredibly proud of what youā€™ve accomplished. Thanks for sharing your story with us. It was a special conversation, and I canā€™t wait for everyone to hear it.

Meet the data centre beast.

This is our brand new fully automated Slinet slitter, and this thing is an absolute weapon.

A few years ago, Proline didnā€™t own a single machine. Now weā€™ve built an entire warehouse and fabrication shop around servicing some of the biggest jobs in the country. Data centres, hospitals and major Tier 1 projects where losing a day can hold up thousands of workers.

That is why Iā€™ve been so hellbent on speed and automation.

If our team measures something on site in the morning, we can have it processed, fabricated and back in their hands within 2 to 6 hours.

On some jobs, the next trade can get moving that same day instead of waiting another 24 or 48 hours. Across a massive project, those hours add up very quickly.

This machine gives our people more capacity, gives our clients a faster turnaround and gives us another level of control over what leaves the factory.

Weā€™re building the shop around the jobs we want to deliver over the next decade, and weā€™re only getting started.
