Multi-level sloping block.
Restricted road access.
Every single tool, material and piece of waste? Moved by barge.
So, we called in our local trades — people who know the terrain, understand the quirks, and don’t flinch when you say the word barge.
From the outset, our Director and Builder, Taylor, had many visions but one specifically that he shaped closely with our clients:
Not just any sauna.
A sauna that belonged to the landscape.
That vanished into it, while delivering a completely immersive experience.
Because when Pittwater is your view… why wouldn’t you design with it?
So we transformed the lower level of the original cottage:
> Glass panels that open to the elements
> Timber finishes that echo the Australian bush
> A sense of calm from the moment you step inside
The details?
> Opulent’s team of Craftsmen that will accept any design detail Taylor puts their way
> A triple-glazed fixed panel that frames the view like art
> StileBoard insulated wall panels for comfort and performance
> Recycled cedar we’d stored from a project four years ago — timber with a story
And a handcrafted cedar dowel glass door handle — milled by Taylor’s father-in-law.
Craftsmanship. Intention. Family.
For us at Opulent Construct, our passion is simple:
We’re not just building for people.
We’re building with the landscape.
For the opportunity to create something that doesn’t just sit in a location… but belongs to it.
That’s what this Cottage Point project gave us.
A chance to stop. Breathe. Build something quiet, meaningful, and beautifully understated.
And we’re proud of what we left behind.
