Things are looking bright at Modbury! A fantastic collaboration by all, and how good does it look

Club official Michael Gallina sums it up well:

"It’s a great step up for us. Having the extra pitch and lighting has increased our playing space and taken pressure off our resources."

Thanks to all involved, including elected members, the club, Council staff and contractors Beltrame Civil.

The $565,000 lighting upgrade was jointly funded by the City of Tea Tree Gully and the SA Government Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program, while the $850,000 cost to upgrade the pitch was fully funded by Council.

Our construction of the new Burragah Reserve soccer pitch for the City of Tea Tree Gully has achieved practical completion.

Following installation of extensive sub-surface drainage and irrigation, speciality growing medium sand from Port Clinton was imported and placed to design (surveyed as achieving maximum ±2 mm variation over the entire playing surface) and then topped with 8,900 square metres of TifTuf Hybrid Bermuda turf prior to Christmas.

The surface is now well established, top-dressed and in the final stages of commissioning works (including lux testing of the new sports-field LED lighting); installation of goal posts, ball-stop fencing and line marking has occurred, ready for use by the Modbury Jets and local community.

The Beltrame Civil team continues to make strong progress on the road, stormwater and electrical upgrades at the Hutt & Glen Osmond Roads corridor, on behalf of the City of Adelaide.

With early milestones delivered, including stormwater culverts installed across Hutt Road in a single weekend, the project scope has now been expanded to include additional asphalt and footpath upgrade works as far as to South Terrace. The upgrade will deliver safer intersections, improved stormwater management, new cycling and pedestrian links, and landscaping that enhances this key gateway into the city.

Beltrame Civil is busy delivering major upgrades at the intersection of Hutt & Glen Osmond Roads, centred on Carriageway Park / Tuthangga (Park 17).

As our latest major project for the City of Adelaide, the key elements of the road, stormwater and electrical upgrades include:

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲: A comprehensive upgrade of the intersection with new turning and through-lanes, profile and relay with deep-lift asphalt, all-new street lighting and traffic signal upgrades, new on-road cycling lanes, dedicated pedestrian crossings, new shared-use paths and ancillary ramps, kerbs and footpath.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲: The eroded open channel alongside Glen Osmond Road that was threatening to destabilise existing mature gums has been replaced with a covered concrete culvert system to restore stormwater capacity, protect the trees, and create a safer, more attractive gateway into the city. Above the culvert, a shared-use path will link Hutt Street, Glen Osmond Road and Greenhill Road, strengthening walking and cycling connections from the southern suburbs. Landscaping improvements include tree plantings, hydroseeding, and garden beds.

On track for completion by April 2026, this project supports the Adelaide Park Lands Management Strategy by enhancing safety, access, and landscape character along the corridor.
