📚 **Literacy & Learning Therapy Referrals Open** 🌿
We've recently expanded our Literacy & Learning Therapy service and have increased capacity to welcome new referrals.
If your child is finding reading, writing or learning more challenging than expected, or you're wondering whether they would benefit from extra support, we'd love to chat.
Our Literacy & Learning Therapists provide evidence-based intervention to support children with:
📖 Reading and decoding skills
✏️ Spelling and written communication
🧠 Executive functioning skills for learning, including organisation, planning, attention and working memory
🎒 Learning disabilities, including dyslexia and dysgraphia
Written communication is much more than schoolwork. It is an essential life skill that supports independence, participation and everyday functioning.
Strong literacy skills help children to:
✔️ Read signs and safety information
✔️ Follow written instructions and schedules
✔️ Access community activities and services
✔️ Complete forms and everyday paperwork
✔️ Communicate through emails, text messages and written communication
✔️ Participate more independently at school, work and in the community
For many children with disability, improving literacy, written communication and executive functioning can directly support NDIS goals relating to independence, learning, communication, social participation and everyday functional capacity.
At Melaleuca Therapies, our Literacy & Learning Therapy is neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based and individually tailored to each child's strengths, goals and functional needs.
Appointments are available for:
✔️ NDIS participants (where the service is considered reasonable and necessary and aligns with their plan goals)
✔️ Private clients
We currently have increased availability, however appointments are expected to fill as families prepare for Term 3.
