Drawing on industry examples and sources including the International Energy Agency (IEA) and European Commission, PROOF.'s recent deep dive into graphite processing highlights several themes that underpin International Graphite's focus on downstream graphite processing.

Three observations stood out:

✓ Processing, not resources, is the bottleneck. PROOF argues that while graphite resources are widely available, "the constraint sits elsewhere. In processing."
✓ Processing capacity remains highly concentrated. The article notes that China controls more than 90% of spherical graphite production and a similar share of purification capacity.
✓ Scaling processing capability is challenging. As PROOF observes, "the issue is whether processing works reliably, continuously, and at scale."

As global demand for graphite products grows, developing downstream processing capability will play an increasingly important role in building diversified graphite supply chains.

From Australia to Europe, IG6's strategy is centred on developing the processing capability needed to transform graphite resources into high-value products and more resilient supply chains.

is executing its strategy to establish a downstream graphite processing platform across Australia and Europe.

This week, the Company:

✓ Received the Building Permit for its commercial graphite micronising facility in Collie, Western Australia, enabling earthworks and civil construction activities to commence on Australia’s first commercial-scale graphite micronising operation, with mechanical completion targeted for Q2 2027

✓ Signed a binding JV agreement with Italian chemical manufacturer ALKEEMIA to develop a graphite processing hub in Italy, expanding IG6’s exposure to European markets and allied critical minerals supply chains

✓ Continued progressing a combined downstream graphite products platform targeting ~20,000tpa capacity, with both processing plants targeted to be operational during H2 2027

Together, the projects strengthen downstream graphite processing capability and supply chain resilience outside China.
