's new Collie production facility – Australia’s first commercial scale graphite micronising facility – is on track for commissioning in mid-2027, with a 12-month snapshot indicating potential annual revenue of $26.0M–$32.4M based on prevailing spot prices and operational modelling.

The facility will now be capable of producing a greater range of products than envisaged in its FEED Study, specifically high-value superfine materials.

The equipment selected for operations provides capability across 5µm to 45µm products, with production focused on maximising margins across product lines based on customer demand rather than maximising production volumes.

Finer graphite products can attract higher unit sales prices, while the Company's recently announced non-binding Heads of Terms with Wogen Pacific Ltd provides a direct pathway for Collie products to established Asia-Pacific customers.

Operations Manager Josh Hearse, CFO Robert Hodby and Industrial Chemist Kathy Miller recently caught up with Steve Elias, Edith Cowan University (ECU) Industry Relationship Manager, Dr Muhammad Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Azhar, Lecturer and Researcher in the School of Engineering, and Professor Matt Carnie, Associate Dean (Regions), at our Collie Downstream Processing Hub.

It was a great opportunity to continue discussions around the graphite processing capability we’re developing in Collie, including industry development, R&D collaboration, and training and education pathways.

We look forward to building on these relationships and strengthening connections between industry, research and education in Western Australia.

This week, International Graphite's Industrial Chemist, Kathy Miller, and Collie Operations Manager, Josh Hearse, welcomed students from the WA Mining Club's Get Into Mining camp to our Collie R&D Facility.

It was a great opportunity to showcase downstream graphite processing, talk about careers in critical minerals, and answer plenty of thoughtful questions from some very engaged future industry professionals.

One question sparked a lively engineering discussion...

"How many hamsters would it take to power the process plant?"

Rather than guessing, Josh did what good engineers do best and ran the numbers.

The verdict?

One 100 kVA generator requires:

🐹 200,000 hamsters running at any one time.
🐹 Around 800,000 in the workforce to cover fatigue, shift changes, annual leave and the occasional bout of unplanned wheel maintenance.

Safe to say our current power supply remains the more practical option.
