In recent months, the Brisbane Programmed Electrical Technologies field and office team came together for a purposeful afternoon in support of Beyond Blue’s initiative. 💙

‘Beyond The Tools’ was the result of a shared desire among staff members to foster engagement within the mental health community. With a fantastic afternoon involving generous sponsors, prizes, Trademutt shirts, and a game or two of lawn bowls , ‘Beyond The Tools’ was a resounding success.

The team were also touched by guest speaker Geoff from Beyond Blue who generously shared his story delivering a poignant message about mental health struggles and where to find help. Not only did it spark numerous conversations about mental health among colleagues, but it also resulted in a donation of $5875 to Beyond Blue. A special mention and a big thank you to all our wonderful sponsors and partners who graciously got involved; Mick Addison (L&H Newstead), Wayne Mattingley (Haymans Airport), Rennie Dolich (Dicker Data), Christian Bighi (Extron) and James Gilchrist (Maddison).

Most importantly, the event allowed the team to engage with one another and have meaningful conversations about a topic and was an event that the PET Brisbane team can take great pride in.

Congratulations to Kilby Todd for taking out Bendigo TAFE's Apprentice of the Year: Painting and Decorating. 🏆👏

Nominated by her teacher Shane Kennedy from Bendigo Kangan Institue, Kilby accepted her award last week at The Bendigo TAFE Apprentice and Industry Annual Awards night. As a third year apprentice, Kilby has been completing her apprenticeship alongside our Programmed painters in the Bendigo region and has been recognised for her quality work and attention to detail on job sites. We are proud to share our industry with young women like Kilby who strive to expand gender diversity in the trade workforce.

Kilby will also be attending the 2023 Bendigo Master Builders Vic/Regional Apprentice of the Year Awards night held later this week as she's in the running for the title in the Painting and Decorating division.
