Community Announcement

Swan Stabilizers and Swan Traffic advise that they will be undertaking roadworks on behalf of Ventia and Main Roads WA at two locations on Port Hedland Road (Wilson Street) between Saturday 19th and Monday 21st February. The first section is either side of Gray Street for approximately 550 metres and the second section is approximately 100m long near Coolinda Street. Both sections are in the Westbound lanes (heading towards the Port and Town Centre). The main works have been programmed for the weekend to minimize the impact of the works on travel times. The sections will be under Traffic Management including lane closures and speed restrictions. Please follow the temporary works signage and any directions given by Traffic Controllers. We thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience whilst these essential pavement repair works are being undertaken.

Nathan & Julianne Swan along with all team members of Swan Traffic Management would like to express their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Victor Birt.

Vic was a valued member of our Swan Traffic Management family and very respected and well known throughout the Traffic Management industry in WA.

12 years ago, when Nathan was the supervisor of Pavement Technology/Downer Works he had the privilege of meeting Vic who was traffic controlling on the Marble Bar road for a local Port Headland Company. They crossed paths many times on different projects when he was requested by Nathan and formed a working relationship and a mutual respect.

13 months ago, STM were working a project in the Midwest and having difficulties with experience on a crew. It was vital to find the key Crew Leader to complete the project and Victor came to mind. This was the start of Vic’s journey with Swan and within a short time due to his dedication and commitment proved to have the capabilities of a supervisor. Some 6 months later, Vic’s son Nic came on board and they worked side by side as a dynamic duo.

Vic was definitely one of nature’s gentleman. He was an extremely dedicated family man. He dearly loved his family and was idolised by his children who he was so proud of. With his caring nature he was always on hand to offer his support, knowledge and expertise. He will always be remembered for his heart of gold and happy smile. There was never a more encouraging and supportive co-worker than Vic.

Our condolences, love and support are with Vic’s family at this time. Please know that you are in our thoughts as you grieve his loss. Vic was a remarkable man and everyone at Swan Traffic are better for having known him. He will be sadly missed for many years to come.

It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could dig deep in support of Vic’s family.
