Our latest groundbreaking trial which turned drones into flying network towers has been featured in Critical Comms!

The trial, led by Mirragin Project Isadore was supported with a $75,000 contribution through the Government’s Ignite Spark Program effectively turned the Spooky Action Inc. tethered drones into flying network towers, a mobile, high-performance communication infrastructure that can be rapidly deployed in disaster recovery scenarios or areas where traditional communications infrastructure is lacking or has been damaged.

Prospecta Utilities played a critical role in enabling the success of the trial by delivering the robust private 5G network backbone at GemLife’s Gold Coast resort where the trial took place.

The trial was supported by Ripper Corporation Pty Ltd 's expert pilots and Powertec Wireless Technology who provided the robust Starlink backhaul connectivity.

A groundbreaking field trial has demonstrated the potential of tethered drones to extend the coverage of private 5G networks in emergency or temporary communication scenarios such as natural disasters.

We're excited to welcome Stephanie Lamont-Friedrich, PhD as our new Manager of Advisory Services at Prospecta! With extensive experience in climate strategy, sustainability, and leadership, Steph is set to make a significant impact on our team.

Holding a PhD in Biomaterials, Engineering and Nanomedicine, Steph’s achievements extend well beyond academia. She has volunteered in the Galapagos Islands, contributing to sea turtle nesting and breeding research and establishing a local beach clean-up group. She is a strong advocate for women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine), was named in the 2022 40 Under 40 list, received the Game Changer Award, and was selected as one of 300 emerging global leaders for the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference in Canada.
