Happy 25 year anniversary to our Managing Director Matthew Malaghan. Many jokes have been made that Matt purchased the business on April Fools Day but the results speak for themselves. What started in 2001 as a single quarry and processing facility in New Zealand has been transformed with his tenancity, foresight and leadership. Today Ausperl, CRYOPERL and INPRO under the AUSPERL Group is truly a global company with two quarries, mulitple processing facilities and seven offices around the world. It takes more than luck to execute this vision and we are grateful for the grit, strategy and committment that you have made to make this happen. Matt you are very quick to thank the team and say that you couldn't have done it alone, but we want to acknowledge this incredible milestone and thank you for your dedication, sacrifice and everything that you do for us. Cheers for 25 years 🍻

CRYPTOSPORIDIUM: A hot topic in the Wellington Region after nearly 60 people have become ill recently with cryptosporidiosis at
Wellington City Council pools Ausperl’s product is a natural volcanic mineral that has been scientifically proven to remove up to 98% of all Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia duodenalis whereas side by side trials with sand filters only removed up to 18%.

According to the WHO, Cryptosporidium oocysts are best removed by filtration media with pore spaces smaller than 4 μm (4/1,000s of a millimetre), while Giardia cysts may be removed by filters with slightly larger pore size of 7μm or less. The use of fine expanded perlite such as resulted in the removal of more than 98% of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts.

AQUAPERL working wonders again! Our client ran a ‘side by side’ test, adding clay to a pool, and filtering it firstly with 5kg of DE, and then running the same test again with only 2.4kg of AQUAPERL in identical conditions.

📢 Big shoutout to the Cryoperl team that recently wrapped up a successful project in Arizona! Despite the challenges of this project, they ensured the project ran smoothly with excellent cooperation between all other contractors on site :

The Cryoperl team recently de-mobilized from our project following a safe and successful operation supporting our ASU1 and ASU2 cold boxes, and bringing the project one critical step closer to Onstream production.

I want to commend the Cryoperl team for an outstanding job here onsite. The team was professional, diligent, and above all, the work was safely executed. Despite several challenges and coordinating simultaneous operations with 6-8 other trades actively working in the same work spaces, the Cryoperl team demonstrated that safety is a part of their value system. Whenever there were any questions regarding safe work practices, or process, there was excellent cooperation and accountability. Please extend our appreciation and recognition.

Kudos to the whole team for a job well done, you’re setting the bar high for all of us 👏 Let's keep the momentum going!

The Ausperl team would like to acknowledge Graham Malaghan. Graham has been a valued director of the AUSPERL businesses since their inception.

Yesterday, in Wellington, New Zealand, Graham stepped down from his role as Chairman of the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, after more than 30 years’ service.

The Malaghan Institute (https://www.malaghan.org.nz/) is a world-class independent biomedical research Institute with a focus on breakthrough discoveries in immunology and immunotherapy. With over 130 researchers they are at the forefront of CAR T-cell and mRNA vaccine research.

This historic occasion was marked by events over two days, where Hon Judith Collins (Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology) acknowledged Graham’s remarkable service; and with staff and fellow trustees, he was presented with a Mere Pounamu, a symbol of chieftainship, and given the title of Chair Emeritus.

Well done, Graham.

Ausperl is proud to be a part of the brand new Parramatta pool complex in Sydney’s Western Suburbs with our Aquaperl+ Filter Aid. This premium aquatic complex is a 40,000m2 facility, has a 50m x 10 lane heated outdoor pool, a 25m indoor pool, a dedicated indoor learn to swim pool and an indoor water playground.

An impressive complex indeed and well done to the AUSPERL Sydney team in supporting the commissioning of this project and their ongoing filtration requirements
