YAAMBA DRILLING CAMPAIGN

Our current drilling campaign across the Yaamba tenements is progressing well, delivering high-quality data on ore grade, deposit geometry, and overburden ratios across this extension of the world’s largest known cryptocrystalline magnesite deposit.

Systematic infill and step-out drilling is refining our geological model of the Yaamba deposit, building directly on the resource base already established at Kunwarara. Each core sample logged strengthens the confidence category of our resource estimate and sharpens our view of ore continuity - critical inputs for long-term mine planning and reserve definition.

Beyond grade control, this campaign is central to extending QMAG’s understood mine life - turning geological potential into a de-risked resource base that underpins our future production planning for decades to come.

Great work from our exploration geologists and drilling crews on the ground, working safely and methodically through Central Queensland’s varied terrain to deliver this critical dataset.

There’s something deeply satisfying about watching this operation in motion.

Our Kunwarara deposit stretches over 30 kilometres in length and 7 kilometres in width - the largest cryptocrystalline magnesite resource in the world, and the foundation everything else we do is built on. This footage was taken at the Yaamba part of the deposit.

Truck after truck, loaded and moved with precision, feeding into input screening and on to our mineral processing plant at KG1. It’s the backbone of our quality - the reason QMAG products like our hydrometallurgical EMAG45 and best-in-class electro-fused magnesia EFH1 set the standard our industry is measured against.

With global markets putting more pressure on margins than ever, using this 100-year lifetime deposit as efficiently as possible isn’t optional - it’s how we keep our costs competitive and stay the supplier of choice for the customers who depend on us.

Proud of the team behind every truckload. This is QMAG at work.

“Working in an international environment and collaborating with colleagues from all over the world, that’s what inspires me every single day.”
– Bikash, Senior Financial Accountant at QMAG Australia

Every career grows through the opportunities that people create for one another. A supportive team and the confidence to take on new challenges matter more than any job title ever could.

When Bikash moved to Australia from Nepal in 2016 to pursue his master's degree, he could not have anticipated where his journey would lead. Today, he is a senior financial accountant at QMAG, where he works in an international environment and collaborates with people from all over the world.

While outside heavy machinery processes magnesite, inside, Bikash coordinates every reporting cycle and financial decision, contributing to the daily operations of the business. From joining the company as a junior financial accountant five years ago to his current role, every new responsibility expanded his understanding of the business, and with it, the people behind it.

QMAG at the Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference 2026:

We are pleased to announce that QMAG, together with our colleagues from Refratechnik Group Holding, Refratechnik Asia and Baymag Inc., will be participating in the Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference (ICM 2026) in Jakarta, 3–5 June 2026.

ICM 2026 brings together the full value chain of Indonesia’s rapidly growing critical minerals sector — and magnesia plays a central role in that story. High-purity MgO is an essential reagent in HPAL precipitation processes, and as Indonesia’s nickel and MHP industry continues to scale, reliable, non-Chinese sources of process-grade magnesia are becoming increasingly strategic.

Our team attending the conference:
Maryam Jafari, P.Eng Jafari – Business Development Manager, Baymag
Suren Dias-Jayasinha – Head of Sales & Marketing, QMAG
Andrew Ollier - Managing Director Refratechnik Asia
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz X. Spachtholz – Managing Director, Refratechnik Holding
Dr. Christoph Beyer – Managing Director, QMAG

We are particularly keen to connect with nickel producers, MHP operators, and project developers across Indonesia’s HPAL landscape to explore how our high-purity cryptocrystalline magnesia products can support your precipitation requirements — from process optimisation to supply security.
If you would like to arrange a meeting on the sidelines of the conference, please reach out to any of us directly.

Please visit Dr. Christoph Beyer's Keynote Speech on the 4th of June:
"QMAG - Market Leader of Calcined Magnesia for Nickel/Cobalt MHP Production"

We look forward to the conversations ahead.

QMAG is proud to support Britney Schofield, our Health and Safety Coordinator in the 2026 Rockhampton Showgirl Competition which is an annual program celebrating young female leaders and advocates for agriculture in the region. Open to women aged 18 to 28, the competition focuses on professional development, public speaking, and community networking rather than physical appearance.

Britney is deeply committed to making a positive impact both at work and within the broader community. As a Health and Safety Coordinator, she focuses on supporting people, promoting a strong safety culture, and helping others achieve their potential. Recently, she spoke with a group of Year 10 students visiting site, where she shared her career journey, provided insights into the health and safety field, and highlighted the importance of resilience. Through her message, she encouraged students to embrace opportunities, believe in themselves, and remember that simply giving it a go is what matters most.
Beyond her professional role, Britney is actively engaged in a variety of community initiatives. She has contributed to toy and book drives for local families, participated in fundraising efforts such as Dry July, supported mental health awareness campaigns, and assisted animal rescue organisations through donations and advocacy.
Britney's passion for leadership, community involvement and empowering others reflects the values celebrated through the Showgirl program. QMAG is happy to support her journey and looks forward to seeing the positive impact she continues to make within our community.

QMAG was proud to host another visit from the Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC) Roadshow on 15 May 2026, welcoming thirteen Year 10 students from The Cathedral College (TCC), Rockhampton, along with employment and manufacturing professionals. AWIC (awic.org.au) is a Queensland-based not-for-profit organisation with a national footprint, dedicated to championing meaningful careers for women in the construction and related manufacturing industries.

The morning began with a tour of the Parkhurst Facility, giving students a firsthand look at local operations and insight into what is happening within their own community. The visit brought the industry to life, showcasing just how engaging, dynamic and exciting a career at QMAG can be.

Following the tour, several of QMAG’s inspiring women shared honest and engaging stories about their roles, career journeys, and experiences, offering practical advice and encouragement. Supported strongly by both female and male colleagues, the session created an inclusive and welcoming environment, followed by a lively and dynamic Q&A discussion.

The experience highlighted the wide variety of career pathways available in the industry, leaving the students feeling curious, energised and more aware of the opportunities ahead. As TCC Pathways Officer Sally Compagnoni shared, “Sincere thanks for hosting an epic day for our students—we all had a blast! Please share our appreciation with your team for their generosity. The students have come away curious and energised.”

This is an event QMAG always looks forward to hosting. It is all about showcasing what is possible and encouraging the next generation of young women to explore careers in the industry. A sincere thank you goes to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success—especially those who shared their stories and those who supported behind the scenes. Moments like these highlight the strength, passion and culture that QMAG is so proud of.

QMAG sends out 5,000-ton EMAG45 shipment to Indonesia

Queensland Magnesia has successfully completed loading and dispatched a 5,000-ton bulk shipment of EMAG45 High Grade CCM in one-metric-ton bags to an Indonesian customer, departing from the Port of Brisbane.
This is a significant achievement for QMAG - and one we are genuinely proud of. A shipment of this scale reflects the growing confidence that international hydrometallurgical operators are placing in Australian-sourced caustic calcined magnesia, and in QMAG’s ability to deliver at volume.
EMAG45 is QMAG’s highest-reactive CCM, purpose-engineered for precision metals recovery applications including nickel, cobalt, rare earths and zinc. Expanding our footprint into Indonesia at this scale is a strong signal of where this market is heading - and where QMAG is positioned within it.
We would like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of our colleague Mark Christmas, the QMag logistics team, DP World and all others involved, whose dedication over the weekend ensured this major shipment was executed seamlessly and on schedule.
It is enormously satisfying to see 5,000 tons of Queensland-made product on the water, heading to customers who depend on its performance. We look forward to a strong and growing partnership with our Indonesian customers and to building on this momentum across the Asia-Pacific region.
