Melbourne Uni iGem

Melbourne Uni iGem A page filled with science, synthetic biology and Unimelb's own undergraduate research group based at the Centre for Stem Cell Systems! What is iGem?

iGem is a unique opportunity to get involved in enterprising student research and create a novel biotechnology-based organism! iGem is a fantastic way to get involved in a student-driven research effort. Teams manage everything from the conception to the ex*****on of the iGem effort, with the aid of faculty supervisors. As part of iGem, you will work as part of a 5-12 member team of students throu

ghout the year. This could include lab work in state of the art research centres, work with advanced synthetic biology computing platforms, and also literature reviews, modelling, and web design. Students from any science or engineering discipline are welcome. The main requirement is that you are enthusiastic and will need to be an undergraduate/new generation masters student during 2013 (although you can still supervise if you are a postgraduate or faculty member). The benefits to participating in iGem include:
-Get valuable scientific and leadership experience
-Develop a useful, novel biotechnology and gain experience in the latest gene technology
-Travel to conferences!
