Just had a Garrett portable in for new tubes. Replaced 6 stay tubes with heavy 6mm wall 2.5" tubes the rest 4mm. Very tight fit in fire box tube plate, a first for me. Full of water now looking for wetness

5 HP Marshall portable. The most neglected boiler I've ever opened . The tubes were solid packed with lime which I've never seen. Black Mud caked on barrel. Past owners never washed her out!!!. This design doesn't have an inspection door on barrel to sight tubes!Fortunately her new owners are caring folk. Waiting for boiler inspector now for next moves

All welds on boiler and firebox passed testing with flying colours .The new box fitted like a glove, Girder clearance spot on. Riveting sessions were very enjoyable with owner and comrades. Those screwed corner rivets are a chore but were successful. Another good boiler in my books
