Long winded post here guys
We always talk about how jobs just snowball and this is one of them!!
Tyson Williams first reached out to us to fit up his ZF in his XD that he was doing a Barra swap on. We got to work got a RRS crossmember kit, modified the tunnel, and got it all sitting in place. That was meant to be it… until he stopped in and asked whether we’d like to keep going with the conversion. we said no worries let’s get after it! We all know I’m a sucker for an XD 😂
At first, the plan was just to get the bay painted and drop the driveline in. But as you can see, Tyson opted for a full respray in Ego Grey. Once the car came back, we got straight into fit up hotside is a SDF high-mount with a PSR 3584 and Turbosmart 50mm gate coldside is Tunnel Vision forward-facing plenum with plazy clamps though out. We got onto our boy Michael at Rotomotion he hooked us up with a Haltech 2500 plug-and-play system. Big thanks to our boy Dan, who jumped in to get it all mounted while we were under the pump with acouple other projects. We carried out a complete chassis harness relocation/hide behind the drivers guard then built the fuel system low-pressure lift pump into a 3L surge tank under the car, feeding a pair of 044s, all hardline system .Brand new suspension & steering throughout up front with Viking coilovers and a 9in swap we got onto final drive for a built 2-piece driveshaft Complete brake replacement/upgrade with Wilwoods up front. For exhaust and piping, our homie Simon at Full noise Fabrication knocked up a 3.5in stainless system from the dump back, external gate plumb-back, and all the cold side piping. As for the shifter we couldn’t live with the factory Ford ZF one. We did some homework and a billet piece from Lokar Performance took its place which fits nicely inside the console with minimal mods. For now this stage of work is done. Tyson’s got the car back to sort out the interior and carry out some smaller jobs, while we wait to get it tuned by the boys at Rotomotion. After that, it’s off to Packard for engineering to kick off that process
