One year strong at South32 Worsley Alumina Refinery, and plenty to celebrate.

Over the past 12 months, our team has worked hard to build strong relationships, earn trust and grow Warrikal’s presence at the refinery. Our people deliver specialist maintenance services, particularly scaffolding and rope access works, providing the safe and reliable access needed to support maintenance activities and help keep the refinery running efficiently for our client.

It has been a year of progress both on site and in the local community. From showcasing our people, capability and growing industry presence through the Chamber of Energy profile video filmed at Worsley, to supporting local clubs and connecting with local high school students to highlight career pathways, there have been some great moments along the way.

Most importantly, this milestone belongs to our people. Their commitment, resilience and hard work have built a strong foundation for what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our first year at Worsley. We are looking forward to continuing to grow, strengthen our partnership and build on what we have achieved together.

R U OK? Day is an important reminder that mental health matters, not just today, but every day, and that a simple conversation can make a real difference.

Checking in with the people around us is something we can all do. Sometimes “I am OK” is an automatic response, so if something does not feel quite right, trust your gut and ask again.

A coffee, a walk or a simple chat can create the space for someone to open up. You do not need to have the answers. Listen without judgement, give them your time and stay connected.

Warrikal has helped give local high school students a first-hand look at life in the resources sector during a recent visit to South32 Worsley Alumina.

Students and teachers from Australind Senior High School and Harvey Senior High School met our team, saw our specialist rope access and scaffolding services up close and heard about pathways into Warrikal and the industry.

A great opportunity to connect with our local communities and help inspire the next generation of talent.

Our Conveyor Maintenance team has set a new Warrikal record across multiple client sites throughout July, manually moving approximately 1,302 tonnes of rollers safely and without incident.

Behind that achievement are our people, working together, following process and looking out for one another. An epic team effort that shows what can be achieved when a strong safety culture is lived every day.

What a way to make new connections, strengthen relationships and have a yarn at Warrikal’s first Connect 26!

More than 2,500 attendees and 230 Indigenous businesses came together, with the Tradeshow Pavilion buzzing with song, dance, networking and the sights, scents and flavours of culture and Country.

With ‘Journey’ at the heart of Connect 26, we were proud to share Warrikal’s journey as one of Australia’s largest Indigenous-owned services companies.

We also celebrated our Founder and Chair, Amanda Healy, being recognised as an award finalist for her leadership and contribution to Indigenous business success.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to meet Team Warrikal and made our first Connect a memorable one!
