That’s a wrap on AIBC National Conference 2026!

What a fantastic few days in Perth, bringing together people and businesses from Australia and Indonesia to share ideas, build connections and explore opportunities for the future.

Electrifying a machine and electrifying a mine are not the same thing.

I’ve been involved in a few discussions recently about mine electrification, and I keep coming back to that distinction.

There is some impressive work being done on electric trucks, excavators and drills. But the machine is only one part of the challenge.

Power still has to reach a constantly changing workface. High-voltage cables need to be handled, protected and understood. Energy may need to be stored or moved. Large electric machines still need to be relocated. And all of those elements need to work together without compromising safety or production.

At Equipment Placement, we’ve spent the past few years working through these challenges. That work has evolved into NEXUS.

NEXUS isn’t one machine or one product. It is a connected mine-electrification ecosystem:

NEXUS Dig and Drill bring mobile power and cable management to the workface.

NEXUS Charge, Bridge and Recovery address energy delivery, storage and operational continuity.
