Our Story
Wise Professional Network (previously known as WISE: Women in Subsea Engineering) was formed in 2016 when the Board of Subsea Energy Australia recognised the need to contribute to the goal of achieving gender equity within the subsea sector. WISE was awarded a Women in Stem and Entrepreneurship Grant from the Department Of Industry, Innovation and Science in 2017. The grant enabled a range of activities aimed at attracting, retaining, developing and promoting women in the subsea engineering field including a benchmark report: Establishing the Baseline
The Wise Professional Network have developed and adapted their framework initially based on the research findings and recently updated to align with the Women in STEM Decadal Plan. Our framework can be found here: http://wise.subseaenergy.org.au/wiseframework/ The Wise Professional Network Committee meet every 4-6 weeks to discuss current initiatives, events and projects.
