Currently, Hagstrom Drilling is undertaking a Geotechnical drilling program along an environmentally sensitive creek bed area, which stipulates spillage of any nature is prohibited.

To eliminate the use of below-ground sumps, Hagstrom implemented an IMDEX mud circulation system in the form of a Solid Recirculation Unit (SRU); mounted to a trailer and subsequently deployed on site.

Not only have works to date been environmentally compliant, they have also been operationally sound. Core recovery on site is currently averaging 96.5%. The expected rate prior to works commencing was 95% recovery.

This outcome was achieved through our custom-developed mud program and specialised bit selection, which has ultimately enabled the team to maxmise core recovery.

In this context, the importance of adaptability to unique operating scenarios is clear.

Our crew is en route to a major Iron Ore client’s operation in Western Australia, to undertake decommissioning of monitoring and production bores (depths up to 220m, diameter 305mm).

Safety, as ever, is paramount. In addition to utilising late model equipment with hands free automation capability, works will be supervised and executed in compliance with ‘Minimum Construction Requirements’.

Pictured is one of two drill rigs to be deployed on site; each will be accompanied by a ‘humpy rig’ van that is configured with an office, stores, crib room and a communications hub, on a pad.

This is one aspect of our Hydrogeological service offering. We’re also well versed in:
- Mine Dewatering, Production, Recharge, Abstraction, & Monitoring Bore drilling & Installation.
- ⁠Vibrating Wire Piezometers (VWP).
- ⁠Test Pumping.

As we kick-start 2025, it would be remiss of us not to stop and look back on the year that was.

From events in Canada, Kalgoorlie, Perth and Fremantle – to jobs in the Pilbara, Gold Fields and South West – the Hagstrom team had a jam-packed 2024, completing works and building networks.

On the move with the one and only Paul Musca – Owner and Managing Director of Hagstrom Drilling! These epic shots of DR034 in action, were captured during the boss man’s recent visit to RC Drilling works we’re delivering in the Goldfields Region, Kalgoorlie.

You can’t say Paul isn’t a man of the people. 😉

Hagstrom Drilling is a uniquely fortunate business, in that it is privately owned, but still operates at considerable scale.

What does this mean? Well, a client of Hagstrom Drilling will typically receive visitation from senior leadership (in this case, Paul himself) on a recurring basis.
