A huge thank you to everyone who supported our CEO, Ciaran Shannon, in this year’s Vinnies CEO Sleepout. We smashed our fundraising goal again this year and it wouldn’t have been possible without your help and generosity!

This year, we raised over $15K to support the work that Vinnies WA provides for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This year, Ciaran took on the role as an Ambassador, recruiting another CEO to join him on the night and supporting those sleeping out for the first time! Over the past two years, he has raised more than $31K for Vinnies through this event!

At Monford Group, we believe in giving back through our ethos of Building Change from the Ground Up. Through the Monford Foundation and initiatives like the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, we’re proud to support the communities where we live and work.

Tonight, our CEO, Ciaran Shannon, will sleep out at Optus Stadium as an ambassador for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout — raising vital funds and awareness for the important work Vinnies WA does every day.

Ciaran will join business, community, and government leaders from across WA to experience — in part — the challenges faced by thousands of people every day. Together, they will raise awareness, hear firsthand stories from those impacted by homelessness, and explore ways to drive meaningful, lasting change.

Monford, with support from the Monford Foundation, is proud to support this initiative for the fourth consecutive year. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is central to our ethos: Building Change from the Ground Up.

With just weeks to go, our CEO, Ciaran Shannon, is preparing to take part in the 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout in support of Vinnies WA on Thursday, 26 June.

On the night, Ciaran will join other business and community leaders from across Western Australia in sleeping outdoors to raise vital funds and awareness for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

So far, Ciaran has raised nearly $8,000—enough to provide:

• 25 individual support programs
• 66 safe beds
• 266 warm meals

This year, he’s taking it a step further as an Ambassador —not only fundraising, but also calling on other business leaders to get involved.

“Last year was my first time sleeping out, and it was a real eye-opener. Not just because of the cold, but because of how invisible homelessness can be—especially among children and young people who don’t even have the ‘luxury’ of a park bench or a doorway to sleep in. We've supported Vinnies WA for many years, but I wasn’t fully aware of the scale of their work—not only helping people in crisis, but also working to prevent homelessness before it begins. This year, I’ve committed to doing more—fundraising again and encouraging others to join me in making a difference.”

Monford was honoured to be named a finalist in the 2025 Decarbonising Mining Awards at Energy and Mines - The Decarbonised Mine Conference!

We were recognised in the Pioneering Renewable Integration in Mining category for our work on the Port Hedland Solar Farm — a powerful example of how innovation, collaboration, and sustainability can overcome complex, environmental challenges.

We were delighted to be recognised alongside other industry leaders that are helping to shape the future of mining and we are proud to be leading this transition to a greener energy future.

This recognition is a credit to the incredible efforts of our team on this ground-breaking project.

At Monford Group, we take great pride in recognising outstanding safety performance. Through this joint award developed alongside our client, ENGIE AU, we are celebrating our dedicated team who are delivering the Yuri Project, safely and successfully.

On World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers' Memorial Day, we’re proud to announce our February and March Yuri Safety Award winners: Amy and Felim!

Amy has consistently demonstrated a proactive approach to safety, regularly suggesting improvements and identifying potential hazards. Most recently, her suggestion to install a concave mirror at the BESS side road to enhance visibility for vehicles and plant was implemented. This initiative has helped to significantly reduce the risk of incidents in the area. Amy’s award was presented by David Hegarty, ENGIE AU Construction Manager in recognition of her initiative and focus.

Felim was also recognised in March for his strong leadership skills. As Mechanical Team Leader, Felim has shown outstanding leadership while working as team leader of the mechanical crew onsite, actively mentoring new starters, and ensuring they are shown the correct and safe way to go about their tasks. He is also proactive in suggesting more efficient and safer ways to work. His award was presented by Monford Group WHSE Advisor Sam Brown and Senior Supervisor Trent Prendergast, who commended Felim's dedication to creating a safety-first environment.

These awards, run collaboratively by Monford and our client ENGIE AU, reflect a shared commitment to safety and a culture that recognises the everyday safety heroes who are contributing to the successful delivery of this ground-breaking project!

Congratulations to Amy and Felim – your leadership, care, and proactive efforts continue to raise the bar for safety across the Yuri Project.

Monford Group Celebrates at the Cunderdin Hybrid Solar PV + BESS Project Opening Ceremony!

We were honoured to officially open the Cunderdin Hybrid Solar PV + BESS Project on Tuesday April 1st 2025 - marking a significant milestone in Western Australia’s clean energy transition!

This landmark project, delivered by Monford Group for Global Power Generation Australia, integrates 128 MWdc of solar generation with a 55 MW/220 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), ensuring reliable and sustainable energy supply for the region.

We extend our gratitude to the distinguished guests who joined us for this momentous occasion: Jai Thomas (WA Acting Director General, Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety), Sam Barbaro (Western Power CEO), Alison Harris (President of the Shire of Cunderdin), Francisco Antonio Bustio Gutierrez (CEO of Global Power Generation), Pedro Serrano (Managing Director of GPG Australia), and Ciaran Shannon (CEO of Monford Group).
