☀️ **IMPORTANT SOLAR NOTICE – TUESDAY 25 AUGUST**

SA Power Networks will be carrying out its annual **Smarter Homes Solar Curtailment Test tomorrow, Tuesday 25 August**.

Around **100,000 solar systems across South Australia** may be temporarily affected.

During the test, you may notice:

⚡ Your solar system temporarily stops generating
⚡ Solar production drops to **0 kW**
⚡ Your system temporarily stops exporting to the grid
⚡ Your monitoring app shows unusual solar/export behaviour

**This does not necessarily mean there is a fault with your solar system.**

SAPN is testing its ability to remotely reduce rooftop solar generation during a rare electricity system security emergency. Participating systems will be reduced to 0 kW and then instructed to reconnect automatically.

The curtailment is expected to last **less than one hour**, and SAPN advises that the test will be completed by sunset.

✅ **What should you do?**

In most cases, nothing. Allow your system to reconnect automatically.

SAPN recommends checking your inverter or monitoring app again on **Wednesday 26 August**.

If your solar system has **not returned to normal by Wednesday**, please contact the Generate Energy team and we can investigate further.

In Memory of Brett Santini

1 June 1970 – 17 June 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our much-loved colleague and friend, Brett Santini.

Brett joined Generate Energy in 2022 as a Sales Consultant, helping customers find solar and battery solutions that could make a real difference to their energy costs. He genuinely loved his work and found great reward in helping others.

After being diagnosed with cancer last year, Brett showed incredible strength and dedication. Even when he could no longer get around easily, he continued working from home, and sometimes from his hospital bed, right up until his final days.

Brett was also a passionate North Adelaide Roosters and Adelaide Crows supporter and an outstanding footy tipster. Competing as RoosterRampage, he won our company competition twice and finished in ESPN’s national top 100 last year.

We are grateful that Brett’s passing was peaceful and without pain. He will be greatly missed by everyone at Generate Energy.

Our heartfelt condolences are with Brett’s family and loved ones.

Rest peacefully, Brett. You will never be forgotten.
