As the heat begins to rise, we reach for the air conditioner remote, but doing so could prove to be harmful.

Unmaintained air conditioning units have been linked to many health conditions, including respiratory conditions and the spread of some diseases. Fortunately, you can do something about it.

You can clean the filters yourself once a month, but make sure your unit is also professionally cleaned every 12 months to remove all contaminants, mould, pet dander & faeces, dead insects and bacteria.

Almost all air con pre filters are washable by the owner. Carefully pull the filter out and rinse it under running water. Use a little mild detergent and gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush to remove any additional dust or grime. When clean and dry, snap it back into the unit.

Behind the filters, deep in the coils, the barrel fan and at the back of the unit, mould, bacteria and all sorts of contaminants can build up and then be blown into the air you and your family breathe. This can cause allergic reactions, it can also cause asthma attacks, headaches, disease and illness. This is the area that we pressure wash to remove the contamination.

In addition to this it will also improve efficiency and as a result reduce the cost of running the unit by upto 28%. It will also operate significantly cooler in the hot weather.
