👋 Meet the People Behind CWS Tasmania

It's been a busy year.

🏭 Bought a workshop
⚙️ Started a new business
💍 Wedding
🎨 Launched a new brand
🌐 Building a new website

Many of you will already know Dave, who brings decades of industry experience and a passion for helping customers find practical solutions to complex challenges.

Barb keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes, juggling a full-time role in the community health sector while supporting CWS Tasmania across finance, people, administration, marketing, and all the other hats that come with building a growing business.

Of course, we're not doing it alone. Paul and Liam are a big part of the team, bringing their skills, experience, and hard work to the workshop every day. They also keep things interesting with plenty of workshop banter, friendly debate, fishing & hunting stories that somehow improve with every retelling. Between the four of us, there's usually a solution to every problem—and at least three different opinions on how to get there. 😄

Whether it's helping customers, working on projects, solving challenges, or debating whose choice of radio station gets control of the workshop speakers, there's never a dull moment at CWS Tasmania.

We're excited about what we're building and grateful for everyone who's supported us along the way.

Our CEO has written an opinion editorial about the importance of using Tasmanian-produced for a range of local construction needs.

Nick Steel said there needs to be better coordination by uniting forestry, construction, manufacturing and government to plan for future demand, and provide greater certainty across the supply chain to support long-term investment.

He said the opportunity was to ensure that as Tasmania builds, it makes full use of its local resources, skills and industries.

🏭 We've Moved In — And We're Loving It!

We're well and truly settled into our new workshop in Prospect Vale, and it's already proving to be a great investment.

The new workshop provides improved workflow, upgraded equipment, and the space to continue expanding our capabilities as CWS Tasmania grows. We've also created a more comfortable environment with modern offices, reception area, and a kitchen that the team is making good use of. ☕

And yes, Dave finally has a proper office, complete with enough wall space to display his beloved Tigers memorabilia. Some might say that was the real reason for the move. 🐯😄

We're proud of what we've built and excited about what lies ahead.
