QUT (Queensland University of Technology) Faculty of Science Dean’s Scholars Annual Gala Evening was, once again, a wonderful night!

𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 was this year's theme and it didn't disappoint. It was wonderful to catch up with Dr. Shailesh Palekar. I look forward to working with you, and the QUT Faculty of Science students soon!

👩‍💼 As someone deeply involved in connecting schools with industry for work experience and apprenticeships, I've noticed a significant shift in the questions being asked. Schools are now seeking 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 for their students, highlighting concerns about bullying and harassment.

🌸 It's crucial to prepare our next generation for the challenges they may face when transitioning from the school environment to the workforce. Ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace is essential for their growth and success.

🔍 Future employers play a key role in this transition too. What responsibilities do they have in creating a supportive environment for young professionals? How can they contribute to retaining our future workforce by fostering a culture of respect and equality?

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the Careers Expo.

I don't have the opportunity to attend as many school career expos as I would like, but attending Trinity College's has a special place in the history of engaging and empowering the next generation. It was the first careers expo and I attended.

Since then, I have had the opportunity connect many young ladies and men with industry leaders as well as provide opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships and career direction via .

Thank you to Matt Thomas from Aptella and Wayne Poole from Building Industry Training Rto #40785 who attended with me and engaged our next generation of trades, engineers, teachers, Dr's, golfers, architects and assisted those who weren't aware of the opportunities available to them.
