For this project we excavated and prepared the area before pouring a reinforced 4.5m x 3m concrete slab, ready for a future insulated panel flyover roof. By completing the build in stages, the clients are able to move forward with the project while giving the budget time to recover before the next stage begins.

Another Retaining Wall Fixed and Done Right

The previous wall here failed due to incorrect drainage and poor workmanship. At Sandside Constructions, we don’t cut corners. Every wall we build is backed by our lifetime warranty, so you know it’s done right the first time.

For this job, we removed a large amount of dirt to enlarge the backyard and built a strong, properly engineered retaining wall. Thanks to Steinke HRC for their support on this project. We got it done just in time before the heavy rain hit.

Another full outdoor transformation completed by Sandside Constructions & Lee Bro’s Roofing

This old pergola was completely rotten through the posts and framing and had reached the point where it was no longer safe or worth repairing.

We teamed up with the crew at Lee Bros Roofing to completely rebuild the space and give the client a much stronger, cleaner and more functional outdoor area built to last 👌🏽

To help keep costs down for the client, we also reused existing materials that were still in good condition where possible, rather than replacing items unnecessarily.

Works completed:
• Demolition and removal of existing rotten pergola
• Rebuild of outdoor patio structure
• Reuse of existing materials where suitable to reduce costs
• Brand new treated timber posts and framing
• New roof sheeting and flashings installed
• New gutters and PVC down pipe fitted
• New garden bed sleeper edging installed
• Fresh gravel finish throughout the outdoor space
• Full clean-up and transformation of the area

The end result came up unreal and completely changed the feel of the backyard into a clean, low-maintenance outdoor living area.

Another one coming together at Alexandra Hills

This job had some tricky levels and an uneven yard, so we reshaped the whole area to get it ready for new concrete.

• Full site prep and regrading completed
• Formed clean sloping ramps to tie levels together
• Prepped base ready for concrete pour
• Set out for proper drainage and long-term performance
• Two concrete retaining walls sectioning off future backyard zones

Another Retaining Wall Transformation Built to Last

This property had an old timber retaining wall that had reached the end of its life rotting sleepers, failing posts and no longer capable of holding back the load behind it.

Sandside Constructions stepped in to completely rebuild the retaining structure and give the property a long-term solution.

The old wall was replaced with heavy-duty concrete sleepers with galvanised steel posts, correct drainage system engineered and designed

The result is a clean, strong and long-lasting retaining system that transforms the entire side of the property and will stand the test of time.

A significant upgrade for this Redland Bay Property! Sandside Constructions kicked the project off by completing a driveway extension to accommodate two vehicles side by side, after which we took over the remainder of the project. We installed a 7 × 7 metre freestanding carport featuring 75 mm insulated panels, delivering functionality, protection from the elements and a high quality modern street appeal! 🤩
The owner couldn’t be happier with the final result!

Wrapping up the year with this master bedroom wardrobe extension and reconfiguration completed at Thornlands.

The existing layout was lacking storage space and usability, so the aim was to make the space work harder without it looking like an afterthought. We reconfigured the internal layout, extending the wardrobe and installing new shelving along with full-length hanging space to better suit everyday use.

The result is significantly more storage, improved functionality, and a clean, modern layout that still looks original to the home no awkward add-ons or shortcuts.

Another transformation wrapped up this home had a classic old-school Queenslander look, and the owners wanted it modernised without losing its character. We delivered a clean, fresh, contemporary upgrade ready for paint.

We fully modernised the balustrade system
Installed 140mm timber handrails for a solid, updated look
Supplied and installed 316-grade stainless steel wire balustrade for a sleek, low-maintenance finish
Reframed and installed new vertical palings underneath the deck.
Rebuilt and updated the front entry stairway, completing the look with matching stainless wire.

The entire frontage now feels modern,bigger and properly finished A big jump from the original Queenslander style while still respecting the home’s character.

This kitchen is officially ready for its brand new fit out

We removed the original sliding window and installed a custom splashback window to perfectly suit the new cabinetry layout. The new setup will feature overhead cupboards above the glass, creating a modern, open feel while still flooding the kitchen with natural light.

The exterior wall has been temporarily sealed with James Hardie sheeting until the future brickwork goes in, ready for the next stage.

From the first cut to the final screw, every part of this job was done properly, ensuring the new kitchen install can go in seamlessly with no surprises or patch-ups later.
