There is something quietly powerful about a textile that doesn’t need to shout to transform a space.

This beautiful interior by Interior Design Studio and Furniture Showroom features Dolce by Raffles Textiles — a finely striped linen/cotton textile used here as a Roman blind. Soft, understated and incredibly elegant, it brings texture and warmth to the architectural simplicity of the room.

What I particularly love is the relationship between material, light and place. The natural character of the linen allows the changing daylight to become part of the interior — shifting the textile throughout the day rather than simply decorating the window.

Dolce is a beautiful example of why material selection matters.

Made from a predominantly linen blend and designed in a generous wide width, it speaks to the qualities I have always loved about natural textiles: tactility, subtle imperfection, longevity and an ability to sit beautifully within a space without overwhelming it.

And seeing Raffles textiles specified and living in finished interiors like this is always incredibly special.

IN THE INDUSTRY | MATERIAL IN CONTEXT

Last week, Raffles Textiles was delighted to see linen doing what it does best — bringing softness, movement, texture and quiet sophistication into beautifully considered interiors.

At The Design Tribe at Molmic collaboration event, natural textiles moved beyond the sample and into the space: generous linen drapery, relaxed bedding, tactile upholstery and layered furnishings creating rooms that feel as good as they look.

There is something uniquely beautiful about linen in an interior. Its natural variation, soft drape and lived-in character allow it to sit comfortably alongside raw brick, concrete, timber, art and richly textured furnishings — adding warmth without overwhelming the architecture.

A wonderful industry event celebrating material, craftsmanship, colour and the possibilities that emerge when textile and interior design come together.

Congratulations to everyone involved in such a successful collaboration. 🤍
