Hydraulic oil should be treated as a source of diagnostic information, not just something that gets replaced at a set interval.

Changes in viscosity, water content, particle levels, acidity or oxidation can indicate that something inside the system is beginning to deteriorate long before a major fault becomes obvious.

One hydraulic system. Two test cylinders. Multiple testing configurations.

For this project, the client needed a hydraulic solution capable of accommodating different test demands within one adaptable testing arrangement.

Rather than supplying a standard power pack, Hydraulic Distributors engineered the cylinder circuit, load control and operator interface as one coordinated system built around the client’s test setup.

Key features included:

• Two 4-tonne double-acting cylinders
• Single or dual cylinder selection via isolation ball valves
• Electro-proportional adjustment of tensile load
• 24V DC pendant with directional control and emergency stop
• Quick-release hydraulic connections
• XMD mobile configuration and diagnostics

The result was an engineered-to-order system configured to suit the client’s specific testing process, rather than an off-the-shelf hydraulic package.

The most difficult part of a repair is sometimes the part you cannot buy.

It may be obsolete. The OEM may no longer support the equipment. Delivery could be weeks away. Or the machine may have been modified so extensively that the original replacement no longer fits correctly.
