Planning a wastewater system for your property? QLD Globe is a great place to start. Mapping layers may also be available through your local council's website.
QLD Globe provides valuable information about your block, helping to identify property boundaries, watercourses, dams, vegetation constraints and other features that may affect onsite wastewater system design.
While QLD Globe is a valuable desktop assessment tool, a site and soil evaluation is still required to determine the suitability of an onsite wastewater system in accordance with AS/NZS 1547 and Queensland requirements. CQ Soil Testing's trained field technicians assess site and soil conditions, identify site constraints, and collect the critical data needed to support a compliant and practical wastewater system design.
When seeking a wastewater assessment and design, it's important to have information such as:
• Number of bedrooms
• Water supply source (town water, rainwater tanks or bore water)
• Existing infrastructure
• Future plans for sheds, pools, driveways, retaining walls or other improvements
Wastewater system design relies on accurate site information. Features such as dams, bores, waterways, buildings, boundaries, slopes and environmentally sensitive areas all influence system selection, land application area sizing and setback requirements.
Identifying these constraints early can help avoid costly surprises and ensure there is sufficient suitable land available for a compliant onsite wastewater system.
