A moment for our SIG B30-5 Deep Hole Borer. 👏

Built for long, accurate internal boring, it's a specialised machine and an important part of Sharpe®'s in-house capability, particularly on long components where bore accuracy, straightness and finish matter.

Adaptor spools do one job: they join two fl**ges that wouldn't otherwise meet.

This one that Abraham is working on is 14 inches of 4130 steel, with two different fl**ge ratings and one full 7.06" bore. This 7-1/16" adaptor spool takes a 5M R-46 connection down to 2M/3M R-45, and it's rated to 2,000 psi working pressure.

We're looking for a Trade Assistant / Labourer to join our workshop team in Virginia, Brisbane. It's a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 2.30pm, alongside our tradespeople.

The work is hands-on: bandsaw cutting, phosphating, pipe buffing, stencilling, doping and capping, and keeping the workshop running smoothly.

You'll need an LF forklift licence. At least a year of experience in heavy manufacturing is a plus.

Along with the job, you'll get access to training, certifications and tickets to grow your skills. You'll also get your birthday off as paid leave, plus a $100 birthday gift. 🎂

✨EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT✨ Meet Lisa, our Brisbane Shipments & Dispatch Coordinator. Our customers operate at a fast pace, and things move just as quickly in our Brisbane warehouse. Lisa helps keep orders moving, coordinating everything to be picked, packed & sent out the door. She’s focused, energetic, and thrives when things get busy!

We caught up with Lisa to hear what she enjoys most about her role. Here’s what she had to say:
✨How long have you worked for Sharpe®?✨
3 years and 6 months.
✨What does your job entail?✨
I ship all the jobs and organise the transport for all outgoing products. Assist with receiving and all warehouse duties, but most of all, keeping Gavin happy.
✨What’s the best/most interesting part of your role?✨
Every day is different, and I thrive on End of Month, and I am proud to say I have never missed End of Month since starting. I enjoy seeing the product wrapped and ready to go.
✨Best career lesson so far?✨
Don’t watch the clock, do what it does and keep going.
✨What do you enjoy most about working at Sharpe®?✨
I love my Job, the upbeat vibe, the team environment, the go-get-it attitude keeps me wanting more, and finishing every task is rewarding to me.
✨When you are not at work, what are you most likely doing?✨
Hanging out with family, enjoying the grandkids, and going to watch my son when he has fights on — Team Headsplitter.
✨What’s the coolest thing you are working on right now?✨
Getting all my duties done and preparing for End of Month.
✨What does your perfect weekend look like?✨
Usually hanging out with the Grandkids, a nice seafood lunch by the water with friends and family. But usually housework and meal prep.

A fantastic night celebrating our Maranoa business community! 👏

Sharpe® was proud to sponsor the inaugural Finalist Function for the 2026 Maranoa Business Awards at Western Queensland Spirit last Thursday night. Our Roma Workshop Manager, Cameron Bartley, was there to represent Sharpe® and celebrate with the finalists.

As proud members of the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN), Sharpe® welcomed QLD members to our Brisbane facility last night for their September Member Meeting.

The evening brought together people from across Queensland's defence industry for networking, industry updates, presentations on AI adoption and a tour of Sharpe’s workshop floor. The evening presented an opportunity for our team to showcase our investments in advanced manufacturing, multi-axis CNC machining and demonstration of the scalability of evening shift operations.

Our team’s 31+ years of dedication to supporting the resources and energy sectors presents a unique proven manufacturing capability to the defence sector as Australia expands our sovereign wealth to support increased spend in the manufacture of critical infrastructure such as submarines and land armoured vehicles.

Manufactured in-house, from start to finish!

This nose cone assembly was made from stock material held in our own inventory. It was turned to a tight tolerance in our Honor Seiki VTL to allow a customer-supplied coupling to be installed using a heat-shrink fitting method, then welded by our qualified welders.

Machined, fitted, welded & ready to go to work.

Having the right stock on hand makes all the difference, allowing us to move quickly from raw material to finished assembly.

R U OK? Day is one day. The check-in with your mates and family doesn't have to be.

We talk about a 'Culture of Care' at Sharpe®, and we try our best to live it every day. A conversation doesn't have to be a big one to matter. Asking someone how they're really going, and staying long enough to hear the answer, can be life-changing for someone who needs to feel supported and valued.

Two new tradesmen on the floor! Mitch and Tait have completed their apprenticeships with Sharpe®, both earning their Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).

A lot of learning, hard work, and hands-on experience has gone into reaching this milestone, and it’s great to see them both come through their apprenticeships and qualify as machinists.

Well done, Mitch and Tait — a fantastic achievement! 👏
